hey i am looking for a new car because i just sold my evo because it had too many transmission problems, so now i want a car that will be faster than that, it ran a 12.8 @ 109 with a 2.1 60ft, bad launch. so now im in the market for a 07 z base and i was thinking of a 100 shot and i wanted to know 1st will the new motor be able to take that big of a shot and will it run a low 12sec 1/4 mile?

i'm pretty sure the HR will be able to take 100 shot.

i've seen guys with 03-06 doing 100 shot with the stock block (if i remember correctly).

100 shot isnt big on a Z, 150 is. Many pre 07' ZA's have gone low 12's and 11's with 100-150 shot. Your 12.8 goal is attainable (EVEN NA!) but you have to hit a better launch that what you did in the Evo!

 

I just recently ran my car at the track on Sunday. I ran a 12.8 with a 100 shot. I ran with street tires too. So yes it is possible.

i have a 06 350z with all boltons possible im running a 100 shot of nos by nx i want to move to a 150 but do u think utec will help me run safer

 

If you really have ALL the bolt-ons and can drive you should be fine with "only" 100 shot. Thats good for very low 12's, high 11's, why push it? If you want to though, create a nitrous map on your UTEC with retarded timing and run race gas for good measure. Thats what my friend does with no issues. Any track times, dyno numbers?

i think with I/E and some great tires and really good launch u can do 12.8 or faster. 07's are crazy!

 

edelbrock tested a 150 shot on a stock 03 z with 110octane and made 323rwhp. but a 150shot is pushin it. id say go 75-100. as for direct port? not with the way the intake manifold is setup. on the 03-06 you could if you used the kinetix manfiold. the hr has 2 tb's so you'd need to fab somethin up. just use a wetshot

There should be no issues running a 100 shot on a Z.

The car will be capable of low 12's easy, 11's very possible... but it seems like you won't be.

 

Direct port on these cars is a lot of work. Make it easier and get an aftermarket plenum. This will help. Unless you're going to do a BIG shot I don't think it's worth it.

here's my dyno for all motor (i/h/e/spacer/utec), then a 75 shot, then a 150 shot. 100 shot will put you in the 12s...125-150 will put you in the 11s, but you'll need a better 60ft. 2.1 just doesn't cut it and the Z is more difficult to get to hook than your old evo.
