i have a friend thats a mechanic and has actually done a couple nitrous kits with all successes so me and him are going to install it ourselves. so be prepared for a DIY soon but you nitrous guys, what do you guys pay for a tune? i called PF and asked for Jeremy but he was busy the guy that got the phone told me 1k that cant be right though, i am probably going to call again tomorrow. so my question is what do you guys pay for your tune? and anyone else attempted a DIY nitrous install?

 

Depending on what all you have on your car and dyno time, how many pulls, etc. I figure just to tune, w/ no other complications you should be spending around $200-$400. That all depends on what comp. your running, tuning in other mods,etc, and if it's done right!

 

There is no way PF quoted u 1g. thats probably for install and tune, and still that would be high. Somewhere in the 200-400 range depending on how many maps you want

 

$1000 seems very high.
I paid $350 for UTEC tune of 1 map, and $100 for each additional map as long as it was done all at once.

 

1k probably included the engine management unit, install, tune.

 

i doubt thats engine management. nitrous kits with the good parts will run 5-700$. then the tune to make 1k$ believable.

tune should be 300+$ range.

 

I'll be lurking for the DIY. I hope to go this route after I get done playing with the na route. I have never even driven a n20 car so I would like to give it a shot (no punn intended).

 

i PMed JT, so i will keep you all updated. not to worried though, JT and the Guys at PF are good! but idk the more i look at the kit, the more i might want to do it for myself! i love working on my car and that would be a great experience we'll see though...!

 

so if you could PLEASE give me a quote for:
1 buy utec from you and all installed and tuned.
2. just install of kit and tune
3. just a tune

1 800 for utec, 50 for map selector switch
2 400 to install nitrous and 400 to tune it
3 400 just to tune it
4 spark plugs will be 50 dollars.
