Throwing flames
Is it bad? I throw flames everytime I spray.... When I set up my nitrous I wanted to make sure I didnt lean out so I ran a slightly bigger fuel pill then I was supposed to for my 85 shot...... I dynoed and gained 79whp with the nitrous.... any advise would be appreciated....

what nitrous system, what jet sizes. NX 75 shot jets should be right on the money. what a/f ratio did the dyno show with the jets you have installed now?
It is a NOS kit... the exact jet sizes I dont remember off hand it has been a while since I put them in... and with the dyno there was no A/F reading? I have the print out in front of me.... the only thing it shows is the WHP and torque ... and the graph.... I do have 1 step colder plugs... I am running NGK V power coppers...... I got the kit used and it had 125 shot jets with it.... I didnt want to use that big of a shot and I remembered reading that under 100 should be safe without messing with timing so I went with an 85 knowing I dont have a bottle warmer it would be a little less...... when I was ordering the jets I got the fuel a little bigger ..... for example if the 85 shot was supposed to have a 44 fuel.... I got a 47.... I wanted to make sure I would never lean out.....

I would try to find out the A/F while you are on spray, you are more than likely rich which is what is causing the flames, on the other hand, it doesn't sound that rich because the power seems exactly on par for an 85 shot. Do you have a gauge to check the bottle pressure? More pressure can lean it out, and may make your A/F spot on with more pressure. I would get a bottle warmer, pressure gauge, and find something to read the A/F with and go from there. Have you checked the plugs to see how they look?
I havnt checked the plugs in about a month.... but I dont really spray that much.... My bottle pressure sits between 700 and 800 lately which I know is low.... Is it bad for the flames though? I dont want to break anything.... running rich I can deal with... I was pretty much expecting it... I can run seafoam to take care of the carbon..... but seafoam wont fix my motor lol
You're running a bigger fuel jet size than what is necessary. In addition, your nitrous pressure is nowhere near the optimum. This all translates to much more fuel added to the engine compared to nitrous being added. Therefore, you're running rich, which is why you're getting these flames shooting out.
It shouldn't really hurt anything, but you'd need to change out your spark plugs more often, since you are running rich.

Cool thanks a million... I am not planning onkeeping the nitrous for long... maybe another couple months before I go with twins.... I just wanted a little extra until then.... as safely as possible....
