Yet ANOTHER stealth Nitrous Install N0 56k

It's cool, don't worry about it, lol. I haven't installed it yet, still have a lot of other stuff to do. I have to redo my wiring since I have a new nitrous controller and stuff before i work on the meth. I plan to run either boost juice or devils own mix, they are 49/50 I believe. My friend got down on a group buy with me and he is just going to run windshield washer fluid, can't beat that for $2 a gallon.

i was going to do that too, but it looked pretty dificult to tap into the bottom of it so i just mounted a tank in the trunk of my G. but i wish i woulda used the washer fluid tank, let me know how you do it

Been meaning to update this. I added my meth install in this thread, since it is more nitrous related to me compared to anything else, but here goes.
We'll start with tapping the windshield washer reservoir. The beauty of using the reservoir is that it already has a low level indicator, it is 1 gallon, and holes where the pumps reside are almost the size of the tank tap. I just had to dremel it out a little bit. I removed the pump for the rear windshield fluid, since I don't use the wiper, fluid, and I run a cf hatch. Its not hard to install in the windshield washer reservoir, I did everything with the tank still on the car. You just remove some screws on the bottom, jack up the car, remove the passenger wheel and wheel well plastic and you have easy access.
Here is the tank tap:
Here is how the pumps look like:
Here it is removed and dremeled
Here is the tap installed:
Line running from the tap:
As for the pump, I wasn't sure at first where I wanted it, i needed a place that was easy to get to without removing a lot of stuff. I finally settled on the battery compartment. I was planning to get a lightweight battery in the future, so this gave me an excuse to get one sooner, I was worried everything would not fit, but luckily everything did.
Here is the battery compartment empty with the pump mounted:
Needed a small block of wood to raise the battery high enough to use stock hardware, here are pictures of it compared to stock
Everything put back together, nice, snug and tight:
Finally, the solenoid for the meth kit zip tied since I was lazy:
I plan to run it with 50/50 mixture, look forward in the future for tapping the intake.
I almost have everything I need before I actually go get tuned and dynoed. Just need to install my mr y-pipe, my nismo crapped out on me. I would like to get some headers, but don't feel like going through the hassle, lol. Planning to get tuned for 125 rwhp shot, hopefully I don't blow up, will probably get it done around may.
Let me know what you guys think, feedback on the shot size and install would be great. Thanks!

Nice install. Keep us updated on your progress and a review would be great.
BTW, you dremeled with the tank still in? What about all the pieces/filings that probably went into the tank during the process? I know you have a filter, but I'd still be concerned.

Thanks It'll be another couple months before more updates, lol.
As for dremeling it, after I dremeled it, I used a wet/dry vac to suck up whatever was left, i ran my finger through it and i didn't get anything on there, so i think it should be good. There is a filter in the tap and a filter in the intake nozzle portion. I believe there are filters on the solenoid also, I'll have to check. I am not sure about the pump if it is filtered or not, I'll have to check also. But I do have at least 2 filters before the engine, just have to check if the pump and solenoid do, so I am not too worried about it. I will probably flush out the tank with water before I do anything with it anyways.

Another nitrous related upgrade. Even though I know our ignition systems are amazing and I don't need this at all, I got an amazing deal where I could not pass it up. The actual unit is fried, but my friend is getting a working unit for cheap. I keep buying stuff for the nitrous I'll probably never ever get to use it, lol. Now that I have a bike, all my mod money is actually going to the bike
Anyone want to buy the broken unit, maybe you can fix it, lol.

Only problem is it is a bigger than the dynotune one so I won't be able to have it like my original setup where everything is in the cubby. I still haven't figured out where I can put it to be stealth and all that good stuff. The instructions have examples on how to set it up, but seems harder than the dynotune. The microedge+ instructions were way over my head, especially progressive mode and knee mode, I'll let you guys know how well this works, hopefully during summer

baka,
i know im a little late to the party on this one, but if i remember right, those meth inj pumps are of the push type, which means the pump should be physically located below the tank so gravity can pull the meth mix to the pump. but, i could be wrong. this is one reason i didnt use the windshield washer tank in my setup, because i couldnt find a good place to mount the pump below the tank.

uglyduc, it will be too much of a hassle now to remove the microedge, plus, I was never handy in fabricating stuff, when it comes to electronics though, I am pretty decent.
mgrotel, the pump that I have is self priming, so it can be anywhere in the car, in any orientation, at least thats what I believe. From my reading, as long as I ensure that there is fluid in the lines before it first starts, it will continue to pump, creating a psudo-vaccum. Here is an article about self-priming pumps, not sure if I read it right and got the right info from it, but I believe my pump can pump even though it is higher than the tank. I believe I read it somewhere also, just have to find out where.

Did I read the article correctly and does it describe a self priming pump properly?
Which meth kit did you go with again?

So its been a SUPER long time since I updated this thread. So here is a quick update:
Got rid of the NANO system and went back to a heater system. NANO has a lot of potential and looks cool with the dual bottle, but it was just too inconvenient especially to find somewhere that could fill up to 4500 psi, I never got a chance to use it since I could not find anyone in my area that could fill it. The 3000 psi seams like a better option if space isn't limited.
I am now running 52/28 jets, used about half a bottle to test it out. I was running rich, probably because my bottle wasn't mounted correctly, will be running a 1gph nozzle with meth as my safety.
As for the meth injection, the pump I have is self priming, once there is fluid in the pump, it will continue to prime itself even if the tank is below the pump, which is pretty sweet, haven't ran it with the nitrous yet.
Wanted to take it to the track, but my car isn't starting, something electrical. Did something super stupid. My car was running and I decided to remove my old dynotune window switch, cut the wires with scissors while the car was running. Something shorted somewhere and I can't figure it out. Lesson of the story, don't work on your car with 2 hours of sleep.
Sorry for the long update. Still feel nitrous is an awesome upgrade.

Long overdue for an update. Currently running 57N and 26F. Spikes to 12-12.5 afr on the initial activation then remains around 11.5-11.8. Finally got the meth sorted out and this is with a 2gph nozzle and 75/25 W/M ratio. I try to maintain the bottle pressure at 950psi. As for timing, my torque app indicated 23 degrees at first and then stays around 27-28 at WOT.
The microedge works perfectly, before I fine tuned my jets, I lowered my lean cut off time and it shut down the system when I spiked. It is unfortunate the company went out of business, it is a great unit.
For the jets I am running though, my trap speed is a little low at 111 mph. I feel very safe with my setup though, car feels really good. I am still debating if I should drop my jets to 56N and 24F though. Will have to wait until spring though.
