Default Help!! 75 shot,+ na mods 14.2 E.T. !!!

Two years ago my stock 03 6mt was running 13.996-14.3 @99-101 mph consistently. Since then , I moved away from any track , and , have within 6 months installed : untuned UTEC (Running intake & header base tune) , STRUP headers, Megan Racing test pipes and cat-back exhaust , AAM plenum spacer , ZEX 75 shot with traction control window switch. And moved back to the same area and same track.
Two separate trips at the track have netted me consistant 14.3 runs @ 95-98 mph. Based on my mods , my research tell's me the set up should be good for low 12's @ around 105 mph.

Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe with five mexicans giving you a pushstart causing a 1.2-1.3 60 foot

You're definitely not spraying nitrous and the weather's yielding slower ET and trap.

I'd check the wiring, the solenoids, and the electronics before attempting to use the nitrous again.

how would you not know that the nitrous wasn't firing? It should be a major kick in the a$$. Are you spinning tires?

Out of practice doesn't give you the lower trap speed with a 75 shot of juice and slower ET, no matter how much traction you lost in 1st and 2nd.

Good luck getting low 12s (and at only 105 mph) with just a 75 shot, not to mention on street tires. I don't even need to bring up the current weather conditions, right?

OP, check/fix the plumbing and the wiring.

low 12's at 105 tells me ur research is WRONG!! take it from 3hree5ive0ero and i we know from experience and spray. a 105 trap is more of a low 13. and on street tires low 12s is not likely. and do u feel the nitrous turn on???

Actually, a trap of 105 on better than perfect run with better than perfect variables can result in a 12 sec run.

My sig shows a good example of what a 105 trap would get you as far as E.T., if you execute things almost flawlessly along with great conditions (click on my 1/4 mile time to see the slip).

Well, for my time, it was on slicks.

I've seen a 13.000 @ 100.xx run though in person. It was a very, very hot and humid day (no surprise there, since it is TX after all) where I was only pulling 13.4 or 13.6 on slicks. This guy in a supercharged 350Z ran that 13.000 @ 100.xx run and I couldn't believe it. I didn't know how to explain it.

Well, anyway, it is possible to run 12s with mid 100mph traps. I see those from time to time at the drag strip and I used to go very often.

OP, progress update?

Wow. I hate to be an @ss, but you purchased all those mods and you achieved a degraded performance. That sucks. There must be a problem.

Default update

I think I'm running rich

1.o2 sensor on right bank was unplugged (ran over a tractor trailer TIRE in the middle of the road i95,... could not dodge; cars on either side of me)

2. I my cone filter was a little loose and dirty ; cleaned and replaced.

3. I think my plugs (1step colder) are expiring (they have around 5000 miles on them ) ECU is throwing p300(random misfire) and p302 (misfire cylinder #2) I have a set of IRIDIUM 1 COLDER , ANYONE HAVE AN EXAMPLE OF WHY I SHOLD NOT USE THEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

4. Probable nitrous leak; higher than normal pressure 1050 , and when I took the bottle out it felt light , speed shop said it had 1 pound , line over tightened I think.

5. Car was at high altitude for 1 year getting 14 mpg. Retarded timing & adjusted fuel map by stock ECU ?

On another note , while under my car yesterday I noticed that when Nissan replaced my transmission on factory warranty, they either did not torque down or install driverside differential mount. The bolt was completly loose. Boy that would have sucked if the car was running right; leaner optimal condition + loose differential + nitrous would probably equal broken something ,like a drive shaft .Once I reinstalled the bolt I noticed crisper shifts.

New ET 13.996 on 75shot .Still not good , but better.

I will let Every one know once I am up to par what the rest of the problems were.
