Default zex kit with all the bells and whistles

I just got my zex kit in today. I went ahead and got a bottle warmer and electric opener and a gauge. Its the kit that is made for the z (82220). Anyways, I had 3 questions:
1. do i have to put colder plugs in and if so witch ones do i need?

2. i want a sneaky place to put it, would the factory sub hole be good?

3. i have the accessport and was wondering if i should use the timing feature and pull a little timing out? (i dont even know if that feature works very well)

Thanks in advance.

HR or DE?

2 - Im exploring this option too, theres tons of room there, but I believe the fuel tank is underneath it, I need to explore more

3- If you can pull it out across the whole RPM band, go 2 degrees up to 75 and 3-4 on 100.

Its a DE

I was looking at it again yesterday and the fuel pump door is almost directly were a bottle bracket would need to mount. My other issue with this location is that i dont know how easy i could get a bottle heater and opener and brackets undone every refill.

On the timing, i think i am gonna spray 100 but my tuner only goes to 3 so i guess that will have to do. But that should be ok because people spray 100 on these all the time with no tuner at all.

One other question is what kind of power do you think ill net to the ground?
mods are:
hks true duel catback
xo2 racing testpipes
xo2 racing headers
cobb accessport (stage 2)
spec super twin and flywheel
motordyne 5/16 spacer
shortram intake

I have always heard that all the free flowing mods like exhaust and intake make nitrous alot mor effective. Is that so?

Exhaust mods make a big difference when it comes to FI and nitrous. I know someone who had nitrous on an all-stock car and after bolting up an exhaust he gained like over 20whp and like 20+ torque..

Colder plugs is a must, better safe then sorry. I was also planning on mounting the bottle in the factory sub hole, but the fuel line is directly underneath; now that's not safe. lol Keep us updated! Im looking forward to your dyno sheets

Yes. Do a search for part numbers, availability, and why.
2. i want a sneaky place to put it, would the factory sub hole be good?
No, it will be a nuisance every time you need to get a refill. It has been done (on the passenger side, as the driver's side is where the fuel tank is), though.

If you can retard timing across the RPM range where you'll be spraying, you should do so. Many have used reflashes, piggybacks, and standalones with great results.
Thanks in advance.
Answer in bold.

look guys i had some crazy things happen on the dyno. My jet sizings are way off what zex says you need to run. i had to go up 60% on fuel jet sizing to even get the car anywhere near 11.8af. zex says for there 55 shot, to put 19 fuel and 32 nitrous in. Just to get it under 12.5af, I had to put a 40 fuel in. whats up with that.

Thats because your car was running to lean before due to all the breather mods that you have on the car, mine was the same way, they had to go way up on fuel to get it to hit the 12.63afr target. Mine is actually around low 12's now. UPREV FTW

What did the car dyno at?

ok big ordeal with the cobb messing up and couldnt get it to uninstall. It was passworded so we couldned do the uprev. So all these numbers are on the cobb stage 2 tune.

55 shot nitrous jet and the safest fuel jet-296whp and 354wtq
75 shot nitrous jet and the safest fuel jet-337whp and 408wtq

didnt attempt the 100 shot because of no adjustability and not able to do any tuning.

ITs Dynotune so the jet sizes are weird. I believe its a 48/28. The 75 was a 46/24. I cant remember I could be wrong.

there is virtually no way that you're running low on fuel pressure with those jet sizes unless you have a defective fuel pump. There's really no need for an upgraded fuel pump until you get into a 150+ shot. Even then it's marginal. GL.

Yes it can pull 2 degrees of timing but the cobb tech says that if you tell the accessport to pull the timing out it will, BUT when the ecu sees that it can put that 2 degrees back in safely it will. Which is kinda stupid if you ask me so why make the feature on the tuner if it goes right back?

And as an update, I got the tune saturday and it went very well. I put down 353whp and 413wtq. The na side of the tune runs apsolutely flawless and has a ton more throttle response. All this was on the the zex 100 shot with the fuel jet upped a little bit. Now the AFR is 11.9 soon as i get in the kit and gradually goes down to about 10.9.
I know this seems rich but I had rather loose 15whp and the car live than make that extra 15whp and it only go another 20k. Ill try to get some pics up of the dyno and the install.
