Default Couple dumb questions.. thanks in advance

I am running nitrous on my 2006 Z and my numbers are just low low low.. I wanna not sound dumb about this but I was looking into utec to kinda help get things cleaned up.. I don't wanna just play with jets and risk messing things up... any answers/opinions would be greatly appreciated..
sorry to sound like an idiot this is my first nitrous experience

edit on my dyno sheet my a/f's are in the 12's and drop down to about 10 from 5k to redline...

what nitrous set up are you running? i would still do most of your rough tuning w/ the jet sizes, but the utec would be a good idea especially w/ the dual map switch so you could run maps w/ optimal timing for on and off the nitrous.

I running a zex wet kit with the electronic box for wot... The jets I'm using are the ones said to be for 50 and 75 shot in their book they provide... I will be able to tell you when I get the booklet out of my car in the morning...
thanks for the response I'll update asap...

I guess I don't have really any good questions just looking for some guidance from ppl much more experienced at this then myself..
thanks again

Yeah, the actual jet sizes are pretty important, are you running the 50 shot ones or the 75 shot ones?

What exactly do you mean by your numbers are low? Give us some more info and you'll be suprised what people can come up with

well I put the jets for the 75 shot and did a dyno pull... took those out and puts jets in for the 100 shot and did a pull is what I'm getting at... 75 shot I made like 282rwhp and 340rwtq.. 100 shot I made 295rwhp and 381rwtq... I know the torque seems to be great but the horsepower just isn't there... the jets I'm using are as follows
for the 75 shot I used a 40 nitrous jet and a 26 fuel jet
for the 100 shot I used a 46 nitrous jet and a 30 fuel jet...

I had mine dyno'd yesterday on nitrous and it seems like my numbers are a little on the low side as far as horsepower goes...
the numbers go
run #1 baseline no nitrous 245.00whp 225.13 lb ft
run #2 75 shot 282.70whp 328.12 lb ft
run #3 100 shot 295.17 380.81 lb ft
for those that have been on a dyno does that sound right?
my car has test pipes plenumn spacer and a drop in filter.
I pulled these from the other thread

Ok, do you have a copy of the graph? It seems like the car is running out of steam up top, with so much torque but not enough HP. Maybe the stock tune is causing problems? What other mods are on the car? Seeing the dyno chart here would help out a lot actually.

Here are some things to consider:
-ZEX rates their shots at the crank, not at the wheels. So their "100 shot" is more like a 75-80 whp shot.
-Dyno is a tool used for tuning, not number comparisons (essentially). So, concentrate on your AFR and not so much on your horsepower and torque.
-Your tq reading is ridiculously high for a ZEX 75/100 shot, but your hp reading is slightly under the expected numbers
-Before you go with a UTEC or other EMS/piggyback/reflash, do as much as you can with the jet sizes. N/A, you're in the 12s, which means you're running rich.. and then with nitrous, you're still running rich. Either go with a slightly bigger nitrous jet (or spray at higher bottle pressure to compensate, but that's a guessing game) or with a slightly smaller fuel jet to hit around mid 11s on the spray.

BTW, last time I dyno'd my car (I dyno'd a "whp" 75 and 100 shot), the retarded dyno told me I was putting down whatever I have in my sig. You know what my tq reading was? 211 for the 100 whp shot. Do I care? No. It's the track numbers, the real life numbers, tangible numbers that matter, not some stupid dyno reading.

thanks I appreciate your input a lot.. the only issue with playing with jets is I don't want to put my engine at any kind of risk... I'd like to play it as safe as possible...
My nitrous numbers at the track kinda show me it's almost worthless on my car... I ran 13.8@103 without it and 13.8@105 with the 75 jets... Idk
I'm working on the dyno sheet right now, my scanner is junk so bear with me..
and thanks again to all that have responded

You sir, really need a tune. 12's are considered lean for nitrous and 10's are too rich.

There's no necessity for an expensive piggyback, stand alone, etc. Just get some kind of effective air/ fuel controller so you can smooth your air fuel out. Once you get those 10's into the 11's you'll be making more power

I'm glad you're playing it safe. However, playing with the fuel shot size on the dyno (decreasing/increasing by 1 jet size) won't hurt a thing. Try to aim for 11s.
