@ mgrotel
What UTEC do you advise? all I keep coming across is the Torbo XS... Im starting to think that a 100 shot for a noob like me may be a little too much, may go with a 75 shot maybe

I guess not many people spray because this section of the forum feels like a desert

the utec is made by turbo XS, so that is the right one. they are pricey, but you can find them on here pretty reasonably priced used. i got mine for under 400 shipped, but thats a little rare.

some people do a 100shot without pulling timing and are completely fine, others have some trouble. if you want to be safe, and dont want to get a utec right now, id start with a 75 shot, but thats me. that is still quite a bit of power and will be fun. you can always step up later, its just a matter of changing out the nit and fuel jets.

there isnt a whole lot of action in this section, you are right on with that.

+1, depending on the track, you wont pass Tech.

Plus, its more of a safety thing for yourself. You dont want a pressure problem to vent a bottle of nitrous into your car.

to OP, do a 75shot and have your fun with that. its not a matter of if, but when you get the itch to go with more, you will need to have some sort of way to pull timing or run meth/water injection. happy spraying

Meth?? water injection??? dude, just get a utec or osiris, pull timing back about 3 degrees or w/e depending on what shot u want, get an a/f gauge to be safe and to tune it right, get a botlle warmer, nitrous gauge, and youll be more than safe.. im runnin 125 shot w/o a problem..

you say just get a utec, wideband, and a/f guage?? you know how pricey those are in comparison to a meth inj kit? do you even know anything about meth injection?

how is he supposed to pull timing when he doesnt have a timing map to start with??? how much timing do you have pulled for that 100 shot?

lol i would not say ton more like 2 or 3

to the op what ever you do just make it safe . a must is a wide band A/F and to be really safe pull 2 degrees of timing for every 50 shot but there are people on here running 100 shot with out any timing pulled so its up to you make sure you get some one step colder plugs (NGK LFR6A-11) and a really good tune at your favorite shop.... im sure if the utec has this feature if your going that route but look in to a Air/Fuel Ratio Lean Shut-Down Switch good feature to have just in case

I dont think that a 75 shot will be that bad. I've known the shop owner for a wile and they install nitrous all the time. If I went over a 100 shot I would then think about buy a wideband A/F. Im not trying to send too much money on this... If this project goes over $2000 I might as well go with a turbo kit, so my budget is 1000-1500. Im a college student, so I also need money for books!

are you prepared to rebuild the engine if you blow it by taking short cuts and not monitoring everything??

I know a turbo is way more ... The point I tried to make was that nitrous is meant to be quick cheap way to get HP. The reason I made up my mind earlier to go with a 75 shot is because I wont have the "latest" sensor technology. Wont the tune in my shop of the A/F mix be enough? I thought that as long as you watch the bottle pressure and the RPMs everything will be ok. All of these sensors look like a marketing gimmick to me.

they are only a marketing gimmick to someone until they show you somethign is wrong and you can shut it off and have it checked out before you blow or more seriously damage the engine.. a $250 innovate or AEM UEGO guage to show you your A/f is cheap insurance to me... .I suggest oil temp and EGT as well but those arent close to as important as A/f

what mods do you have to your engine now?? what exhaust??

turbo kit is at least 8-10k if done correctly.

I have a nismo cold air intake and greddy Ti-C catback, everything else is stock. You are right, I just googled a AEM UEGO gauge and their only $200.00. It would be ignorant of me not to invest in it.
