The first thing you need to do is to read the FAQ at the top of this forum (https://my350z.com/forum/nitrous-oxide-181/)...

Just read the first timer FAQ posting. I ordered the NOS kit a few minutes ago. Will a 100 shot blow a stock VQ REVUP?? My car has 55,000 miles on it already and I just want to make sure that I don't kill my car...

Thanks guys.

to change the shot size, all you have to do is buy the appropriate fuel and nit jets

# 10LB NOS Hi Flow Blue Bottle (EMPTY)
# 10LB NOS Bottle Brackets Black
# NOS Bottle Nut Adapter 4an
# NOS Fogger
# NOS Nitrous Solenoid (Up to 150HP)
# NOS Fuel Solenoid
# NOS Nitrous Solenoid To Fogger Braided Line
# NOS Fuel Solenoid To Fogger Braided Line
# NOS Pedal Microswitch & Bracket
# NOS On/Off Switch
# NOS Stainless Braided Bottle Line
# High Pressure 5/16 Fuel Line & 3 Clamps
# Fuel Line Brass Connector (To Connect Fuel Line to Solenoid)
# NOS Wiring & Fuse Holder
# FREE VISION Motorworks 0-1500 PSI Nitrous Gauge and Adapter Kit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...item3ca2a539cf

but from my reading I see that I still need to buy...
  • bottle warmer
  • cold spark plugs
  • purge kit

One of the local shops said they would install it and tune it for $375.
If you guys know where to buy the parts that I need for cheap, please let me know...

instal and tune for 375? thats sounds pretty good to me, what did they say they would tune it with? utec? other?

purge kit isnt necessary, but nice to have

i would highly recommend getting a window switch as well to make sure you dont spray too low in the rpm range

The guy at the shop told me that they will tune the NOS kit in the shop but that with a 100 shot I dont need to tune my ecu... I guess their just going tune the fuel and air mix.
Purge kits are not necessary!!! That's perfect!! I read that they leaked nitrous. Now I might afford the window switch. Oh and the shop owner lowered the price for installation to 275.

just be careful, a 100 shot is right on that fine line of where you need to start pulling timing to be safe, i melted plugs with a 100 shot

Ok I just finished purchasing what I need,
  • NOS WOP/RPM Window Switch
  • the tank heater
  • cold spark plugs

Nothing to do now but wait for UPS. I opted out of buying a purge kit because I'm reaching the limit of my budget for this project. I may buy the purge kit later in the year. Cant wait to take it to the track!!

What type of spark plugs where you using?? How much HP to the wheels did you make?? Do you still have that setup?

i have one step colder ngk plugs, probably about 310-320 to the wheels, im an auto transmission, i still have the setup, however, i am fairly certain the melting was from high engine temps, causing preignition, not good. just installed a meth injection kit to keep temps down and have a utec on the car. now if i could only get someone on here to help me out with a map, i would be set, but no one wants to help
