Whats up everyone. Im new to the nitrous systems and I was thinking about adding it to the Z once I get it. I really like the ZEX wet kit for the car. I was woundering if it was illegal to have nitrous oxide in your vechile in texas? Because I will have the bottle mounted inbetween the seats but behind it so i can just reach back to to the bottle on. Any help? Thanks alot.

 

I was just reading the new Import Tuner (i left it in the car) there is a big article on products that are 50state legal...

there were 3 nitrus systems up to 150 shot's in there...

i was very supprized...

when i get it out of the car later ill see which ones are legal..

 

im pretty sure its illegal. my freind has a 300zx and he has a 75 shot thats in, but the tubes arent connect, he says, incase he gets pulled over... but then again how would they know if you mixed nitrous in with you cars fuel for 100 octane... i always figured it was except for private shows and exibts off public roads...

 

nitrous IS NOT legal on the streets. it is only legal if the bottle is disconnected. i've also heard the bottle has to be out of plain view. at least this is how it is in NC.

 

Depends on your state, I would check online your states Vehilce laws. Some states don't have anything even on the books.. Others 'suggest' that you comply with the Federal Hazmat laws.

Nitrous isn't lillegal to possess in California but it's illegal to use on the street. It's an off road ONLY product Ie the track.

That is the California Law in a nutshell.

Otherwise we wouldn't have refill stations.

 

Does that mean we can go around with it connected? How can they prove whether or not we used it on the street?

 

They can't really, unless they see you purge... haha, but then would having a bottle of nitrous hooked only to a purge line be considered illegal.... hmmm all show, and no fun.

anyone know the FL law.... i think it is bottle has to be closed... but it might also be lines have to be disconected... i need to find out.

You can have it but the bottle most be "closed", off I believe.

 

remote opener bzzzzt closed like they said don't purge kind of hard to enforce this one. How do they know you used it? They don't unless they smell it lol.

If they see it though it's mess with you find something illegal time because it's like a 4 letter word to them, they hate it. Most people are uneducated about N20 because of movies where cars blow up etc.

 

well I have three good freinds who are highway partol in California and I asked them if my nos was legal or not and all three said sure its legal.....good enough for me
