Dynotune bottle warmer users
I seem to be having a problem with my relay connected to my bottle warmer. I've melted my first one, and since replaced it with a Radio Shack relay. The first one was a cheap AutoZone one. I was wondering anyone using this same setup could tell me if their relays get pretty warm. The 2nd one I installed still gets fairly hot, although it hasn't melted yet. I've rechecked all wiring, all grounds, and have fused my main power line as well. Dynotune says it should get pretty warm. Everything works as intended, just wanted to know how warm others relays got when on for 10-15 min. Thanks.
ya like to see pics of you setup .... i heard they get warm but they should not so hot they melt i would double check your wiring it may look good but maybe not check your ground again take them off where you have them grounded and make sure the its nice clean metal there ... and for your switch check and make sure its not the problem and last but not least check and see if the warmer its self is not causing the issue it could have problems .... 10 15 min seems like a long time to have your warmer on unless its really cold ... or you have a low tank and its just staying on ... cant wait to see the pics of your setup
I never touched my relay, even when it was exposed and easily accessible.I paid $3/lb, then the price went up to $4/lb. I can't calculate per month because I don't spray that often to refill every month... most of the year.
the price by my house is 4.50/lb. It's a Honda dealership really close to my house though. I've had it hooked up for a month, and surprisingly with all the testing, purging, and everything else that goes with making sure everything is working as intended, I haven't emptied my first bottle yet. Then again, I'm not spraying everyday or even close to that. I will double check my ground. It seems to be a decent ground since its shared with my bottle opener, and that works fine. The only wire that seems to be relatively hot is the wire from the heater to the relay itself. I'm not sure whether its the heat transfer from the actual heater itself, or if its from the amount of power that's going through that wire. Again, I'm not burning fuses so yeah..... if you guys could check yours that would be great!

My problem seems to be the wire coming from the heater itself. That wire has a lot of resistance for some reason, heating up by the relay, creating enough heat to melt the relay. I've checked grounds, done for the day. Will do more testing tomorrow.
