Default My Dynotune nitrous install

I've had this setup for 2 or so months, just been lazy to do a write up on how I did my install. The actual nitrous kit, purge and Microedge I bought new, but I did get a few items used and for a great deal (bottle warmer, remote opener, and n2o gauges). I spent about 1200 total on everything, minus the Uprev and tune. I had a friend help with the install, so no labor dollars were spent, and I could have my setup the exact way I wanted it. On to the pictures. There are still a few things I have to do, like wire loom the lines in the compartments, clean up the wiring in the glove box and install the blowdown kit. Might get an Innovate wideband, just not sure where to mount the 52mm gauge. For the most part its done.

I see a lot of people run their nitrous lines above the driveshaft. I saw an empty spot near my brake line brackets, so I ran it there.

I was originally going to do the mounting of the solenoids in the brake compartment, as its fairly stealth, but wanted more of a hidden look so I didn't go that route.

Nozzle placement

I did some playing around and came up with a way to mount it under the cowl by the windshield wipers. The wipers are fully functional and don't interfere with anything. The purge comes right out the center of the cowl. I went with the hardline to assure I wasn't going to have anything flapping around.

Purge when the cowl is on.. the hood covers it for the most part, so it doesn't really stick out.

Bottle placement in the rear glove box.

Gauges and Microedge. The spot for the microedge is temporary, till I can find a better spot for it. For now its velcroed. I love the Microedge. I didn't want a switch under my gas pedal. It has many features as well, rpm window, afr cutoff, multi gear lockout, just to name a few. Just wish the damn thing was smaller.

And last but not least, the way it looks now....

thanks to BakaN20 for the help, 3hree5ive0ero and everyone else who made informative posts that we all can learn from.

very nice job man... look perfect. Only way to tell your spraying is the fuel block, but then again you have to know what you are looking at.

Question. Is there any negative affect to installing the solenoids up side down ?

I asked myself that same question. Nowhere does it say that it needs to be mounted a certain way. After all, its only a solenoid. I have yet to have a problem with it.

cool thanks for the info. I personally have done a few nitrous installs on 350/370z so i was just curious. I have always installed them up right. Except for the ZEX kit which its all in one unit.

That's a very clean install.

My solenoids are mounted sideways and it's been that way for years without a problem.

The only thing that I'd suggest you do is make the purge line sit a bit more upright. The way you have it right now makes it look like it's pointed ever so slightly at the wiper (probably isn't the best to purge cold gasses directly at the wiper).

BTW, where did you tap for the tach signal and tps signal?

I may bend the purge line slightly, but its fairly clear of the wiper from this angle. I may have reattached the wiper slightly higher after removing it to take pictures.

I tapped those wires at the harness by the ecu. I tapped the wrong wire initially. Damn diagram was confusing, I think I counted the pins looking at the harness the wrong way, and my MicroEdge wasn't showing an rpm reading. Just used a multimeter and checked continuity from the green wire by the throttle body and harness.

lol you don't want to know...We did it in one sitting, I think it took us a little over 8 hours, lunch included. The wiring was time consuming, as well as mounting the bottle back there which included cutting the glove box, removing all the rear panels etc.

Congrats on everything! It looks really good, I really like where you have your solenoids, its totally stealth. I am glad I was able to help

Does your purge hit your windshield? I have read somewhere that someones windshield cracked because of the sudden cold blast to it, not sure how much truth there is to that though.

Haha this is a horrible video. Anyway, the bottle is fairly low so 850psi is about where I got it before I became impatient. I was in a rush to go to class after work, so this just gives you an idea. Even at 70+ mph it doesn't touch the glass.

Nice. Thats just as stealth as my setup. I have my purge under my car I just purge while I'm doing a burnout and they cant see or hear it. I have a small bottle that fits in my glove box and my big bottle in the trunk.

How hard is filing that bottle, seems difficult to remove... look the stealthy install though.

I was thinking the same thing. Clean install nonetheless.
