Default My install thus far

So over the past few months I've been researching and piecing together a nitrous kit. I got most of a NX kit through a friend. After that I purchased a 10lb bottle, MSD window switch, NX fuel pressure safety switch, dynotune fuel rail adapter, dynotune heater, and some other misc small stuff.

I made my own switch panel that can easily be hidden, I have my A/F gauge, master switch, heater, purge, and a brake switch for pin 101. I just had some leftover wrap and figured why not too.

I'm also adding cruise control... I hope. Put in the wheel, cluster, and switches.

Solenoids are hidden under the brake resevior. Wiring was cleaned up too since this photo.

Just waiting on a bung and Z1 intake pipe and I'll be done under the hood. Trying to keep it as hidden as possible.

Wasn't really anywhere I could hide this.

But an old gym bag did the trick

I plan on doing some low shots to make sure all the electronics work and are dialed in, and then get it tuned on Uprev with either a 125 shot or maybe 150. Still want to research that a little more.

So everything is in now. Only things visible under the hood are the shark nozzle and fuel rail adapter. I can live with that.

Only thing holding me back is the MSD window switch. Gotta call customer service tomorrow, First, I t'd to pin 62. Then, tried that wire right at the coil. Still nothing.

So I tried to do a couple test pulls last night. Started with a 41n and 24f. AFRs were in the 16s. NA AFRs are in the mid 13s during a pull. Tried upping the fuel jet a little but no progress was made. Today I tried a 35n and 20f and got the AFRs around 14.2.

Fuel pressure drops when the solenoid is activated, so I guess it's time to look at upgrading the pump. I thought the stock one would have at least handled a 50 shot.

You shouldn't have any issues with the fuel system with anything under 100 shot.

Yea, that's what had me stumped. I'm pretty sure I got it figured out this morning. In all my haste towards the end I realized I never adjusted the fuel pressure safety switch. Fuel pressure was dancing around it so it kept coming on and off repeatedly. AFRs are around 12.0 now and it pulls pretty good on the 50 shot. Can't wait until it gets tuned now.

Wow, that is a brilliant stealth install. You'd really have to look hard to see it, great job.

Thanks, I would have liked to of had it even more hidden, but it's pretty clean at least.

Finally got the window switch working. Was told I needed a GMR pickup 8918. That still didn't work. After more research I found a thread on G35Driver of someone with the same issues. Grabbed the black wire on the coil pack with the GMR and all is well now.

^ Glad to hear it's fixed. Now, we just need videos.

This is pretty much the "standard install location" when it comes to nitrous and Zs.

Don't worry I'll get some 50 shot videos up soon. I just need to refill the bottle already, haha. Definitely need to invest in a couple spares.

A little update. Running on the 75 shot jets with a little bigger fuel jet. Car is running awesome and has surprised a few people. Bringing the gopro to get some decent video tomorrow. keep forgetting to charge it.

Waiting on a plenum spacer and new valve cover gaskets and this thing will have a tuning appointment at Hill's soon.

Between the head and valve cover. The driver's side has been very lightly seeping since I bought it. Just have been putting it off since it just coats part of the head and never drips.

It doesn't leak at the spark plug holes?

They do. Cylinders 4 and 6 had a little oil in them. Cyl 5 is the one that has me worried. I'm going to try FIPG first and if that doesn't work I'll break down and buy new valve covers.

It does the job on Toyota motors, figured I'd give it a shot here too.

It's toyota's rtv. Their stuff has lasted longer than any other rtv I've used.

bringing thread back from the dead. Did you ever get the car tuned at higher shots? Any power or track numbers?

Haven't been on here in a while. Car is still on a 75 shot and is on the 5th bottle right now. Ran it at Cecil and trapped 110mph. Surprises a lot of people too.

It should be tuned on a higher shot by the end of August. I've been putting off getting it tuned while I restore my grandfather's old bike.

I did finally assemble a permanent purge setup tonight at work. Hidden in plain sight.
