So my install is 99% complete, I have a nitrous express TPS/window switch and I have the TPS and RPM hooked up however when running the car TPS reading are all over the place. I am hooked up to the green wire coming off of the throttle body harness as suggested for a V35DE
When the car is stopped i get a consistent voltage reading of .2 which my window switch is calibrated as zero throttle and I have full throttle set as 4.9v however when cruising the voltage bounces around anywhere from .5v->5v (15%-100%)!
When on full throttle the voltage actually never makes it to 5v it still bounces around but never reads a solid 5v.
I'm not sure what to think of this, the RPM switch is reading perfectly so unless anyone can think of anything in particular I may just get a manual WOT switch which i was considering doing anyways.
Try tapping in at the ECU. I think its pin 52 on it, but make sure first. Thats where I have my Window switch tapped into. It reads consistently every time.
To follow up thanks to the pic provided by 3hree5ive0ero I realized that it was not the color of the wire I should have been looking at on the G35 but the position in the connector!
Here is the pic 3hree5ive0ero posted of the green wire in his 350z throttle body connector:
and here is the pic of my G35 throttle body connector:
The 350z has a green wire in the top left plug of the connector yet the G35 has a white wire! (both DE's)
Also I checked the factory service manual to verify and the white wire puts out .36v normally and 4.75 when depressed.
I changed my wire to the white wire and everything is working perfectly now
I've read about half of the threads on the nitrous forum here and saw quite a few posts where people with G35's asked which wire to tap and were told the green wire. I also recall a number of g35 owners stating they were having problem with their Zex or other kit with the TPS, They tapped the green wire and didn't know what was wrong.
It's the white wire!
Also, if all else fails mount a WOT switch under the pedal FTW
