Default Question on Nitrous Jets...

Hey Guys,

So I’ve installed my nitrous kit over the past few days. It’s supposed to be a dry kit in which the ECU controls the fuel and solenoids. The wiring was all done. I’m at the point where I just need to install the nitrous nozzle into air intake Tube. We decided to test the functionality outside of the car. In doing so, we had a ton of spray come out of the nozzle with a 35 shot. We tried to do a comparison vid of both 35 shot and no jet whatsoever. Anyone know if this seems right or is the nitrous jet just not seated right? It seems like a huge nitrous hit for a 35 shot. First vid is 35 shot and second vid is no nitrous jet. Thanks in advance.

What ECU are you using to control the fueling? Is it also dropping timing?

What made you choose a dry shot over a wet?

The ECU is currently disconnected. So I’m just touching ground to have it spray outside of the car. It’s being tested before it’s used on the car. I don’t really need a wet shot since I have a full stand alone. So it’s mechanically a dry shot but technically a wet shot since I can adjust fueling mixture from ECU once solenoids open. My main concern is the nitrous making its way past the jet spraying more than a 35 shot.

I see that you are using a standalone, what stand alone are you using?

You can tell by the "kick" when you open up the solenoid the 35hp is way lower than the fully open.

Just make sure you test that when you hit the button the ECU adds fuel and pulls timing.

Looks right. The 35 shot barely moved the nozzle. Full open sent it flying.

It’s a Link ECU. Yeah it’s getting a nitrous map. Thanks for the input.

That’s what I thought but I wanted to confirm with some of the guys that have used nitrous before. It’s pretty potent at a 35 shot. Here’s another vid with the single nozzle 35 shot:

I've never used nitrous, I'm just comparing the kick backs of each of the nozzles. You have to think you are pushing 800psi or so out that nozzle its going to look crazy.

This is true. I kept thinking that 900 psi is 900 psi, but it’s coming out of a tinier hole. I’d still like to see what all the nitrous gurus here think. Hopefully, they still frequent the nitrous forums.

Wow, only 8 responses out of 267 views? Thanks to everyone that offered some input. It's much appreciated. I'll post back here once the kit is fully installed and in use.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to chime in and say I was successful in getting the basic nitrous system working. There were a couple mishaps but all in all a success. Thanks to everyone that helped along the way.
