Everytime i read import tuner or sport compact they advertise different nitrous brands and always put a little "WARNING YOU MUST RUN 92 OCTANE OR HIGHER GAS WHILE USING NITROUS OXIDE OR YOU MAY RISK DETONATION."
For all you who are currently spraying successfully with the Z, do you go by this rule and only run your nitrous with racing fuel, or do you just run the nitrous with 91 octane anyway with no problems?

under12:1??? thats super rich. if your getting that ratio, either drop down to the next lower fuel jet size or 2, or move to the next size up on the nitrous jet. aim for low-mid 13's. you'll foul your plugs and might fry your heads with anything lower then that. however it is good/safe to be slightly on the rich side. too much is bad just like too little is bad.
you shouldnt have anything lower then 91 octane in the z to begin with. does 92 octane exist? i've always put 93 octane regardless of weather or not im using nitrous. i've used as high as a 100 shot without the additives. someone's actually had problems with the additives. i wouldnt use any. just stick to higher octane gas. the additives tend to lean the crap out of your engine. so does racing fuel ie 105+ octane. if your running right and slightly rich and want to squeeze out a couple more ponies from your nitrous kit for a track event, then use the racing fuel. but make sure your running slightly rich before you do that. dyno helps.

fluidz, ask around. 11's and 12's for a/f is way too rich n/a or nitrous. you will mess things up over time with that type of a/f ratio. your bogging down your car with that type of a/f ratio on nitrous.

ya that stuff is expensive. i usually fill up a couple of gallons worth on a track day even though i havent done it in a while. other then that, its not worth it.

YOU ARE MISS-INFORMED - Period!
If you think Nitrous is N/A go ahead and blow up your motor. N/A can run lean at 13:1 at 5,000rpm, nitrous can 2 but you'll have problems one day doing that.
I'd say mid 12's from 1,500-3,000rpm 12 flat at 3,000-4,000rpm and 11.7:1 over 4,000 rpm is safe......People blow motors up with Nitrous when they think like YOU! Sorry but I had to say it. Its all about COMBUSTION TEMPS, the leaner you get the hotter the explosion, weather you run Nitrous or F/I dosent really matter, F/I is a much safer way to increase Hp just because its more stable than Nitrous as far as being introduced to the engine. If you are running 13:1 A/F.......someday you will blow ur motor, I bet ya!
You asked me to ask around..........IF I WHERE YOU, I'D ASK AROUND!
PEAS!!!
