There are some consistencies with the two RP weights. Both have high iron wear compared to the average of all the samples taken so far. They also have higher than average Aluminum wear. Both have thinned out from their virgin oil viscosity. The 10W-30 is just a tenth of a point off from being a 20 weight and the 5W-30 became a solid 20 weight. The 10W-30 held up better when you look at the average mileage on the oil, and based on the high average mileage, the thin viscosity of the 10W-30 isn't that big of an issue since the RP was a thin 30 weight oil to begin with.
The 10W-30 looked good for Chromium wear and Lead wear. I like the RP 10W-30 results in regards to Lead wear. Low Lead wear is my personal emphasis when looking at an oil's ability to protect, as it is an indication of how well it has protected the bearings. The Chromium, Aluminum, and Iron are my next emphasised wear indicators. Followed by Copper and the rest of the trace elements. In this regard, the RP 10W-30 looks great for lead and Chromium, but worse than average for everything else. So overall, RP 10W-30 is just an "ok" oil in my book and I see nothing specail or outstanding with it on the whole. There are other oils that have shown much better results with similiar mileage, but I wouldn't say the 10W-30 is a bad oil to use. I am still hesitant to recommend RP's 5W-30 until a decent average can be made from more than just the one sample sent to me.
The 10W-30 UOA's were not sent to me, but posted by a member in another thread. Screen name is The Professional, and the thread is:

castrol full sytec... never did any type of testing but after 80k NA miles on my specv w/changes every 5k i dropped the pan to install first turbo kit and zero sludge or gunk. The pan was absolutely clean. along with all otehr parts. Further after 5k turbo miles, the same was true when we dropped the pan a second time. Ive also found that up to 3k miles I get the best gas milage from castrol full syn. just my .02 from my own world!

what up I'm back from my random "work" related trip to orlando where it was nothing but fun. School sucks making up all this crap I missed but it was worth it. And best part was after a crappy day taking tests all day my new rims came and they are in absolutely perfect condition. I'll be putting them on tomorrow after I give her a cleaning. If you saw it at school today greg I know how bad it is, thats why I didn't park next to you earlier with your car looking all clean.
btw, when did nissan start putting on the potenza re050 instead of the re040?

A 0W oil is way to thin for my taste, especially in the heat we have down here.
I used to run Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 and it worked well since I'm turbo and road race, which causes higher oil temps then most. I'm undecided what I will be running in the new motor.
Castrol 10w30 right now just for breakin. On it's third oil change in 300 miles.
