i need help deciding..

see i like thats the fujita has new pipes because i fear all those crinkles in the stock one are restrictive. then again, i would be sucking all that hot air from the engine bay. but when i think of it even more, i dont know if i want to pay 400 for 2 filters/boxes.

pros/cons anyone? opinions?

I would opt for the Stillen with the heat shields. I say that because of the hot air being suck into the air filter. Also, it won't let so much air escape the immediate area of filter. Especially if you can construct some type of air ducts to the stillen box. Just because the intake replaces the tube, doesn't mean it will produce more power or better air flow than the stock. Look at the popcharger. It has been proven to get better gains than the intake that replace the tube.

I wouldn't waste your money. You won't see a noticeable difference. Save up and put that towards a s/c kit or turbo kit. It is only a matter of time before something is released. Unless you plan on staying N/A, then I'd prolly still keep the stock intakes. Would just do some k&n drop ins. Just my .02

I guess what some poeple don't realize is that a metal intake pipe will retain more heat and become heat soaked faster than the stock plastic pipe. I would say to heat wrap the stock pipe and get a pop charger.

I never really thought about the metal retaining heat. I will have to buy some heat wrap for my tube. Thanks.

yea, thermal wrap would take care of that, im more worried about sucking up the hot air. i think i might just wait for other companies to come out with intakes, fi just isnt that realistic for me financially.

If you're worried about sucking up hot air than just keep the stock boxes, get k&n filters and those bumber ducts would help get cool air to the intakes

Just put we all said together. Get the Stillen or K&N drop in filter, heat wrap the tubes, and make some custom air ducts. You can make them by using clothes dryer exhaust vent tubing

I'd probably get the Stillen just because the heat shield is best. Honestly you won't really notice any difference amongst intakes because if they gain anything, the power will be negligible.

I would agree with this. I know intakes are only a couple of hundred $$, but for the power
I just cant see it being a big deal (unless you plan to go full bolt on only). If you want the sound and don't plan on going FI, then by all means get the intake. In the end if you may go FI, that couple of $$ could be the difference in a better clutch or maybe even cams etc which would make a big difference in the end.

Most Advance Auto's have heat wrap, and I know Harahan Auto has it. Don't forget to get the silicone sealer spray.
