I think it's just easier for everyone, but I am ok with either Saturday, or Sunday.

You can cut that in half by doing 90 mph the whole way

actually, the 20th I might be able to make.. I would drive in late Friday to NO. Stumble around FQ all Sat, then head out Sunday morning for your BBQ.. so, how far is it from NO? Like 2 hours? Gawd, can it be hotter in NO in late July/Early Aug? I can already feel it

It's about 1 hour to BR from NO, and yes, the heat is on.

no, you pay a prorated rate after noon usually. most places give you at least 2 hours of 'late checkout' before charges

however, pulling into FQ that late/early is a mf'er.. I've just not had good luck at all with it. Having a full day in NO requires some logistics we may just want to pass on. The streetcars do a good job of getting you ALL around the FQ and Garden District, but youre still on foot alot. And, honestly, I'd rather save walking around like that until its cooler, like Halloween. Even those tours are hellish at this time of year.

Might be easier to just head to BR on Sat. Maybe do something corny like the Myrtles or whatever.
