FT: Nismo LSD swap for VLSD + $200
Trending Topics
The Nismo LSD is on the aggressive side of differentials. It is set at 2 way and with 90PA and additive, it is mostly quiet but still chatters in parking lots. If you're interested, you're welcome to come by for a test ride. I'm located in San Jose.
Sorry, I'm mistaken. It is set at 1.5 way. It does not lock if you aren't adding gas.
Could not tell you which is better, I never drove either. I'm sure a Tomei will be quieter but lock less. I would guess that the nismo would be more fun on the track, autocross or drifting.
I can tell you that the difference between stock and the Nismo LSD is day and night. Instantly you feel the car rockets out of turns. At the limit, you get far better communication and control of oversteer and understeer through the pedal. Flooring it when understeering will always break you back out into a slide. I've driven BMWs and an S2000 all with very aggressive diff. fluid for drifting and none come close to the "shoot you out of the apex" feel of the Nismo diff.
Long story short... depends on what you'd be doing with the car.
