This past Saturday I finally installed the MREV2 & 5/16 spacer and also threw in a K&N drop in. I definitely feel a little more pep to the engine but I paid for it Sunday with a sore back from leaning over the engine all morning. Now all I have left to install are the sway bars and springs but unfortunately I think this is beyond my know-how or tool set.

Was there ever a date set for that BW3 meet since the first one was cancelled awhile back?

Yo,

BW3's meet --> How does this Saturday sound?? ...or, tomorrow night is a Wings game @ 9PM??

Next topic --> WHEELS

Looking @ the following set up:

Enkei RPF1 17"x9" +22 (front)
Enkei RPF1 17"x10" +18 (rear)

255/40r17 (front)
275/40r17 (rear)

Not sure what brand of tire yet...any help? I have the Potenza RE040's now...I'm looking at either the Toyo T1R's, the Falken RT615's, or something similar.

Thoughts??? Suggestions???

Late,
Nick

BFG KDW. I'm running the KDWS now and love them (245/45F, 255/45R).

Why only go with 17's? They may look small on the car. I think 18's would look perfect and the Toyo T1R is a good sticky tire. With a +18 offset in the rear, you may have to roll the fenders to avoid rub?? Not sure though, I'd hit up some people in the wheel/tire/brake section to make sure.

The reason why only 17's is that I can save some weight, and when it comes to wheels weight savings, savings in rotational inertia is HUGE for acceleration, braking, and handling for a vehicle.

Also, the 17's will clear very nicely to the fender so no rolling should be needed. (The rears are going to stick out 32 mm outboard more than stock and 8 mm towards the inboard side...should look good)

The only real concern I have is that the centerline of the tire is now 12 mm outboard from design intent...is this going to effect my suspension a ton? Even with a much wider tire?

Nick

I agree with Sean on the tire selection
I have always just had great luck with BFG...which is why I always buy them.

I agree with Yancy on this one Nick
go 18 or go home...
the little bit of weight savings will be negligible for you heavy @$$ convt anyway...

The suspension dynamics will really not be too much affected by the tire size increase
Unless you wanna fork out for Camber plates...the tiresize you are getting will be good!

I will not make it this weekend...I am on my 3rd Annual house boat trip!!

Track tires are so much cheaper in 17in. For looks and performance you need two sets of wheels...

....And my girlfriend's Pacifica came stock w/ 19"s. I like the look of 18s too but don't like 'em when they start looking like a rubber band stretched over a giant wheel. LOL

Too many chunked up roads around here for the amount I flog, I mean drive, my car. Mine's not a fair-weather-only cruiser like some of you. I can't stand to have a car just sit.

Anyone got a 205/50/17 they need to get rid of cheap? A pair of 225/45/17s? I just reacquired my '02 BMW 330i (long story) and it's got a nasty bit of sidewall damage on one tire. I wanna get that replaced so I feel comfortable driving it while I get it ready to sell.

I thought I might call the local Discount Tire I deal w/ and see if they've got anything on hand too.

blahhhhhhh , how man of us here actually race alot ? 17" will look too small on a Z , if you get 17 you need a 50 profile tire for it to look decent . 18 or 19 is the way to go plus it only weights 4 -5 lbs different max . anyways what do i know my car came stock 19" now i have 19" volks .

19's unless they are over 10in wide are just for bling bling... and i aint ghetto...

17's are the smarter choice... lighter smaller etc...

Check the link for some pics of mine on 17s
