Thanks Jonny, yea I thought it was a bit weird that a 350z owner would advise me to get the evo instead.....

Anyways, I have a co-worker who owns an 05 enthusiast so I might ask him if I can drive it during lunch or something.

I've been talking to a few ppl about cars for sale. Currently I'm looking at either an 06 touring 11k miles for 26k or a 06 enthusiast with 23k miles for 23k. Only issue is the 06 touring had oil consumption issue and had the motor replaced with a v2. But from what I hear, the v2 sometimes doesn't fix the issue....

any comments?

I would go with the enthusiast model. I dont have any troubles with oil consumption to date. I hope I dont have to deal with it. Even if you do, then you just need to keep an extra quart with you.

almost all 06 have oil consumption . you're paying 23k for an 06 enthusiast ?
pay 4 more you could get an 07 . be sure to know that most of these used Z have been beat the **** out of lols , it's a sports car , good luck man post some pics when you get one . but seriously though if you want a that's easy to mod , go with the evo it is so mods friendly big gains in power , even though i still love my Z .

First off...a BIG thanks to Steve and Johnny, my car is back to its old obnoxious loud self again. I think my 08 is louder then my 06...the thing is FREAKIN LOUD now...

AZNsky...Either car is nice. The major difference is that an Evo is probably one of the ugliest cars on the market in my opinion. Its a shoe box with a wing. My 06 I beat the SNOT out of and I never had any oil consumption. There are some good ones out there. I agree that you should try to get an 07 used. The HR motor is a bit quicker.

+1 on the dumps!!!!!

Mike, they were actually harder to do.
I had to go from the top and buy a 20' extension.
Thank God Steve came it wasa three man operation.

We did it at Johnny's place.

Craig, I know Gary will be having those meets again.
They probably won't start until May.

Hey - glad I could help out with the exhaust install. I honestly thought I'd be twiddling my thumbs while you two worked away. It was fun to get under the Z and do some work... Time to invest in some of those mechanic gloves - my hands are scraped to hell.

That little, granny-drive I took in your car planted the seed. I took my Z out of storage today. Ohhhh. so nice. Got the oil changed/started the oil consumption test.

Steve - glad you enjoyed it, your help sure made it a lot easier. I am still going to wait on the Z, but it will be out sometime in the next 3 weeks.

Steve,
Thats the best part about working on cars...the fact your hands aren't clean for 2 days and you have scrapes, and cuts all over them. Glad I influenced your decision to take your car out.

Johnny-you just let me know when we are going to do your car and I am there.

AZN-what did you get?

Haven't picked a car yet. I think I'm just going to stay away from 06's all together cuz I don't want to take a chance on having oc issues and frustration.

So I'm currently looking at 05's around 20k, or pony up and try to find an 07 enthusiast for hopefully 26-27k at the most!

Alright well keep us up to date on what you end up getting.
The 07 would be the most ideal for you..

I would agree with the 07' being a better motor. Personally I dont know that I could get over the new hood. It really is up to you and what you can afford, if you plan on going FI or staying NA. Hope you will join our community soon as a lot of things are going to start happening as it gets warmer.
