Dil did you already get your car back? I am down for meeting up at woodward tonight. Dil if you come out, I need my jackstands. I want to do my mods next weekend.

No the car arrived at Forged today. I was gonna ride with billy.
For sure, are you gonna be at woodward tonight? If so Ill bring them with me. I might not go though if it rains.

well just got back......took us 11 hrs. Car was spotless when I first picked it up. Now it's dirty as crap, and all i can say is, I HATE BIG RIGS THAT FLING ROCKS AND CHIP YOUR WINDSHIELD ON YOU BRAND NEW CAR!!!!

That being said, the chip is smaller than the size of a dime. So should I just try to repair it? Or completely replace the OE glass with another OE glass?

And yes, I'm the happiest guy on earth!!! Well besides the damn chip which broke my heart....

Congrats on the new car. Now you need to get some more pics and post them up.

If you can, get it repaired. It will be much cheaper than a new windsheild and much quicker. Sometimes new windsheilds look like **** after they get replaced and they dont seal them right.

Congrats! Yeah it was bound to happen one day or another. Better that it's now so you can relax right? It was either that or trailer the car.

 

Congrats on the car! I know how disheartening it can be to get some damage to it... It could have been a lot worse you know.. Up to you on the repair/replacement. Maybe repair and live with it for now - so you can use the extra money for mods or whatever.

Jonny - keep us in the loop with your mods schedule. I can help out at least for a few hours this weekend.

I'm still working on getting replacement wheels. Looks like it is going to take a while. Belle Tire is trying to blame it on the Work USA's powdercoating.. I'll know more by Tuesday-ish.

Steve, I got your PM. I had a couple bad experiences:
1) Suburban Nissan in Troy Motor Mall. While doing the rear axle click TSB fix, they gouged my wheels all around the lug openings, and on the face of the rear wheels. When I bought it to their attention, they told me they wouldn't replace them, but they would send them out and repair them. A week+ later, they came back, and they still looked like ****. So I made them send them out again. Another week later, they came back and they were good enough. I ended up suing them in small claims for 2 1/2 weeks' lease payment plus insurance. They didn't bother to show up for court, and I got $400 from the deal.

2) The Firestone tire place at Fairlane mall. Bought new rear tires, and specifically told them to be careful, and that the wheels scratch easily. My wheels ended up all chipped around the edge. I showed the manager, and he offered me the choice -- $250 off my purchase, or replace the wheels. I had him replace them.

Since those experiences, I've had Discount tire do my tires. I make sure to tell them upfront that the wheels scratch very easily. The Discount tire on Ford Rd in Dearborn is great, and also had good luck at the one at 16 and Mound.

Your damage is not the powdercoater's fault. If you don't get resolution, just file a small claims suit for the full price of replacing the wheels.
