Looks like my car will be ready soon. I'm getting just about everything by this weekend. Can't wait to put it back together. I'm tempted to put the old tires to one last use by driving it out to Stillwater to get the new tires put on.
I started work on my wheels last night. I was hoping that aircraft stripper would do it with one pass. The original powdercoat is really on there! The aircraft stripper barely made it start to crack, and it certainly didn't scrape off. It did soften it up a bit for sanding. I'll do another pass of aircraft stripper today and hopefully it'll help get the nooks and crannies. My arm is sore from all the sanding last night, lol. I did the same thing to my old 323 wheels in the past, and the old paint just sloughed right off. I really want to get tehm to the powdercoater this weekend, but we'll see. I don't want to send them without having them prepped really well. Worst case scenerio, anyone want to loan me a spare set of wheels next sat?

Not yet. Still shopping. If anything, I'll just put on the new tp, y-pipe, and old exhaust setup until I find a new single.
Baby jeezus is crying... I can't imagine what that's doing to your wheels.

651-283-0689 for those that want to meet me at Calhoun for lunch. I'm in the office right now, but I'm leaving soon. Came in, got what I needed, and will go 'work' outside for the rest of the day.
Sadly, nothing. I want to take it down to the metal before I get tehm powdercoated, I don't want this to start flaking or something ater a year or so. I was surprised to see the wheels are actually black underneath it all. I'll post up some work pics maybe.

You guys are missing out here at Calhoun. I'm sitting in my car enjoying the breeze and the view. I'm going to find some lunch pretty soon. Hungry!
What harm does it cause the aluminum? I've already used it on the from 2 and it really didn't do anything at all. Anyone recommend a place that'll do media blasting around downtown or south of the cities?
I can't seem to find any information on the web saying that aircraft stripper harms aluminum wheels. The planes this stuff is made for are made out of aluminum. On the other hand, media blasting with the wrong media or too mush in one spot can cause damage. I think I'm going to stick with the stripper for now as it's worked great int he past, and shouldn't hurt the wheel at all.
I am going out for a little while tonight, anybody interested. My Z is at the body shop getting CF skrits/rear bumper lip put on, a lot more work then I was willing to do.
