I can't seem to find any information on the web saying that aircraft stripper harms aluminum wheels. The planes this stuff is made for are made out of aluminum. On the other hand, media blasting with the wrong media or too mush in one spot can cause damage. I think I'm going to stick with the stripper for now as it's worked great int he past, and shouldn't hurt the wheel at all.

Welcome. Sign yourself up for the meet if you can make it!
Anyone want to roll their fenders? I will be doing my rears this weekend hopefully... I already did the front and im tired of the rears rubbing... I will hopefully be picking up the roller tonight if it pans out. Then ill be rolling them tomorrow in EP if anyone is interested hit up the Celular... 952-334-0616

We're heading down your way next Saturday if you want to meet us in RW.lol.... she'll be ready for sure. And what if I do ride shotgun? I can take pics and vids.
Where are you going? I hear there's a lot of Z's hanging out on Uni lately.
I started work on my wheels last night. I was hoping that aircraft stripper would do it with one pass. The original powdercoat is really on there! The aircraft stripper barely made it start to crack, and it certainly didn't scrape off. It did soften it up a bit for sanding. I'll do another pass of aircraft stripper today and hopefully it'll help get the nooks and crannies. My arm is sore from all the sanding last night, lol. I did the same thing to my old 323 wheels in the past, and the old paint just sloughed right off. I really want to get tehm to the powdercoater this weekend, but we'll see. I don't want to send them without having them prepped really well. Worst case scenerio, anyone want to loan me a spare set of wheels next sat?
haha
hahaBe carefull Powdercoating. Some wheels are not meant to be baked at hi temps. I know for a fact BBSs are not meant to be powdercoated. I am not sure what wheels you are using but just thought that is something you may want to be aware of.

I'll even let you shift a bit...but only when I tell you too.

I think I found a good place that'll both media blast and powdercoat, adn I've only read good things about them. Pro Powdercoating in St Cloud. The only downfall is it's in St Cloud... My sister goes to school there and lives in the cities, so I might try to get her to bring them and pick em up for me

I have one of those video camera mounts that mounts on the pass seat and sits the camera right in the middle of the car if someone wants to use it on Sat. Since I can't make it now.
Mine are the G35 19" forged rays. Let's hope not!

lol, Greg. We've been looking for one to replace our old one that broke last year. Local prices are stupid expensive, so I just happen to find that one. I like numbers and control, so I got it.
Napa on hwy 13 and what? I need to go! The Z will be getting an oil change this week. I think my Z will be coming out sooner than Friday!

Just curious, how does a shop tune our car if there's no piggyback system? Is there something they do with timing, our own ECU, what? I've always wondered how people tune their cars when they ad NA mods. I've never seen the exact play by play on that.
yes the vortech kit has the ss box which is what they tune with.... and if you are n/a generally what you would do is send your ecu in for a reflash, which is basically a tune you could say
