If you can jack her up and take the wheels off, I would do that. Otherwise, I'd put the car on w/e wheels and tires you like the least.

I guess I'll be hanging out in the garage and cleaning it up.

I can't believe it. Would it make sense for me to store it on my stock
rims/tires instead of leaving my 19s on?. I am concerned about possible flat spots.
I've never had isssues with flat spots, but I agree with dave, better off storing on tires you don't care about

You will want to Over-inflate your tires if you are storing it. I used to put mine up to 50psi when I stored it, especially if the garage is not temp. controlled. YOu should be fine. I stored my for 4 years and did this every time. I also used to roll it a few inches every month just to make sure.

I'm with you, Greg. WTF is up with this stuff? Welcome to MN, eh?

I'm prepping my garage and Z since I have the day off. I hope having a 1/4 tank of gas should be alright for the car. I might have to put in some stabilizer.

Hi, Ben! That's a good idea about the tires. I'll have to do that since they're sitting on dollies now.

Thanks guys. Very helpful hints. This whole idea of having to store the baby before Mid-October (technically) is making me sick. The tiny bit of snow on Saturday was enough for these guys to spread salt all over the place. For me I think it was not necessary since it was warm enough for the snow to melt. Saving the salt meant saving my tax dollars and best of all giving me some extra days to enjoy my beloved Z. I hear it is supposed to warm up a bit this weekend. I would use that opportunity to give it a last wash and some detailing. I guess it is better to own a snowmobile in MN than a sports car, LOL

There's no fighting Mother Nature. I guess we just have to adapt and avoid the stupid people.

Thats all I do, just over inflate the tires and call it good. It's funny how some people get so paranoid about flat spots. With the way tires are made now adays and the compounds they're made out of, it's pretty hard to get flat spots on them.

I've heard it's a better idea filling the tank completely full, or else the fuel vaporizes and creates condensation in the tank.

I was out driving at 6 AM on saturday morning and the roads were bad... more specifically bridges and overpasses. I counted 7 accidents in my 40 mile roundtrip to the airport. The salt was necessary and considering the number of accidents I saw, probably should have been put down sooner.

I pay taxes too and I will ***** about other things, like inefficient use of education funding and welfare abuse long before the use of salt on public roads

yes, you want your tank full when storing the car. The problem is mainly with the ethanol in the fuel. Ethanol mixes easily with water and will pull water out of the air... less air in the tank the better. Then there is evaporation. The more air in the tank, the more certain components of gasoline will evaporate over the time it is storage. Finally, the gas will oxidize -> reacting with oxygen will change the composition of the gas. This is mostly referred to when people say the gas is so old it has turned into varnish.... so obviously the less air it is exposed to the better

To summarize, the fuller the tank the better

I was refering specifically to my neighborhood. Either way I was not serious about that. My Z does not come ahead of other people's safety and salt costs basically nothing compared to the billions of waste in the system. End of the story and end of politics Lol. Now let us talk Z talk, lol.

Could not resist the temptation. I looked out today and I as like, it looks really nice and sunny. In the end I gave in, took her out for a total of 50 miles, filed up the tank on my way home. Hopefully that would be the last for the year, that is if i can resist.

Well, since you guys are my 'my gang' and what not... Tara just called and her dad passed away. RIP John.

I left work early because the hospice had stated that he was not going to last more than a day, so everyone went to say their last. I'm home with the kids making sure the house doesn't burn down.

I'll be in and out for the rest of the week probably. Funeral will probably be this weekend if not sooner.

He was a good man.
