I think you have the 'new' car lust, Aaron. IMHO, I don't think anything from DSM is really that good. That box is a fanboy car. All it was built for was rally car racing, and then someone decided to mass produce it for the consumer (which fell for it). It's a shitbox. I'm sure it's less refined than the Z and more practical for this weather and stuff, but I'd rather be seen in the Z.

I guess we can agree to disagree. Not saying you're wrong and I'm right or vice versa. Far from it. We both have opinions of the car which differ from the other.

All too often, I read negative experiences from people who had the 4-door grocery getter and hated it, had all kinds of problems, got tired of the squeaks and rattles, and decided to upgrade and get a refined 2-seater.

Not saying the Z is a luxury item, but I'm pretty happy with my car. I don't go through a different car every year like some people on this site.

Thanks for the Xmas ideas. When my MIL or Tara asks what I want, I can tell them I want special wax and detailing supplies.

I can kind of agree with you there dave. I have had two dsm's before my z one being close to 500whp and I gave it up for my z. It was definately a loud rattle box. Very fun but I prefer the z. I will say that those evo mr's are quite a bit stepped up from the eclipse's and talon's of yesterday. I think one thing that drives me away is just the fact that any kid with 800 bucks and able to make payments on an evo can have a 500 horse car. So you see a lot of them and you see a lot that are not well taken care of and beat up pretty bad. The ones that are nice are sweet but it seems for the most part its just a different kind of enthusiast's car. Most of them only really car about cheap horsepower... I cant say too much though because im on mitsustyle and I really like most of the evo guys. I just like the z's but im sure if aarons got an evo, its probably sweet as hell.

I don't think an evo qualifies as a DSM... I would say the only things an evo has in common with a DSM are that they are easily modded and most owners beat the **** out of them

My car looks pretty stockish from the out side:
tinted windows, JDM rear, lowered, CF side splats

this is what matters though:

Pics, Aaron? Or did I miss that when you got the car? Those are great numbers, but I see no point in it unless you plan on using it for racing purposes.

Wow, that's a lot of lights.

So which one of these super cars of yours will be given to your son in HS?

he is 4, so he has 12 yrs.... that's a lot of time. I figured things will go one of three ways:
1.) I'll be flat broke by then and he will be on his own for a car
2.) I'm doing about the same as I am now and he will get a 98' protege to drive... already have it waiting. If he does OK with that, and I still have these cars, he can drive them occasionally
3.) I am a multimillionaire and will get him a better car of his choice

Car looks good, Aaron!

I'v been having fun with RWD+snow tires this year. My car is so much fun to drive in the snow. Just a hoot! I have NO issues either! goes through deep snow with no issues. Absolutely love it.

And my Continental ExtremeWinterContacts.

It is definitely doable. Just gotta make sure your car is semi tall otherwise yea, you would probably snow plow lol

I was doing a bit of that tonight.

I lovingly refer to my Z as a snow plow. I've never tried it, but it's doable.

I sold my APS valve, but I have the evo IX MR diverter valve -> asking 60 bucks. It is 'crushed' to handle more boost
