Travis, once again, well played on the wheels, I never doubted what they could become....now go forth and abuse them!

Erik what seats are you getting?

And Greg I wasn't drunk until after I posted that I was just using cat language.

GOOD WEEKEND...

we sold all three vehicles we had in the mecum auction. two went during regular bidding and the third took afterbids, and sold. Even though the money goes to my dad and brother, I am happy everything went. I had a lot of work in getting titles and prepping the cars and feels good they brought fair money.

78 ford F250
53 ford F100
32 roadster

^ in case anyone was interested

yes...

all I can say is do not buy anything if there is any question about titling it. It was a nightmare. took me 20 months to get it titled. HORRIBLE.

car was bought in pieces. most documentation came with it.... problem was, no MSO (manufacturer state of origin) for the body... ****... manufacturer's company is disolved so I couldn't get one from them...

now the car goes to inspection when it was completed. fails.... no vin tag... well no ****, the car was just built.

we send in needed paper work.... go back for another inspection. passes, but fails because of no vin... inspection site requests a vin tag. now we are cooking.

...keep in mind, each step is at least 30 days, usually 60-90 between getting paperwork back and appointments. Also the car needs to be trailered to inspection site because it has no plates/registration

make another appointment once we get notified that a vin tag has been issued.

go in, inspection goes well, they apply the vin tag and we get a pass...

now I can apply for the title.

I go to DMV and they state I cannot apply for a title until I get a bond...****... no paperwork I had stated it needed to be bonded, but apparantly because I didn't have an MSO on the body it needs a bond.

DMV tells me $16000 bond. OK, get one written up, send everything in...
two weeks go by and I get a letter that bond is in the incorrect amount. I call, and say WTF? on hold, on hold... um sir the bond should be for 1.5 times the stated amount... how the hell was I supposed to know that?

so get a new bond written up for $24000.... send it in.

two weeks later, get notice that the bond is incorrectly written. I go back to my insurance company and they write another one up... send it in... two weeks later, they send it back. No acknowledgment of corporate surety....NOW I AM PISSED.

I drive up to MN street in st paul and meet up face to face with this ****er that keeps sending back my paperwork. I go line by line with her and fax all my notes back to my insurance company. they write up yet another bond. I drive back up to MN street and do another face to face with the new bond in hand..... FINALLY passed. 4 wks later I had my title......

cliff notes -> don't buy anything if there is any question about titling it

to be honest, I don't know what codes are on my car. when I had the unichip, I would get it now and again.... but now that I have the Fcon, I never even run them anymore. My stock ECU doesn't really control anything to do with running the motor anymore... heck, I don't even use the stock maf anymore.

your traction control will never work right. you will be able to accelerate faster than the computer thinks you should. I just turn mine off.
