Well after some more thought I have decided to keep my sled.... And just add more $$ into it to make it where I want it to be. So I'm upgrading all the shocks and plan on doing some more tweaking to it to make it one hell of a beast

I think about it... and driving around on an open air vehicle at some decent speed in the middle of winter sounds down right cold.

I have a few neighbors that are into it and they end up chasing snow. I know I could find a sled for 2000 bucks or so, but I see guys spending 15 grand on a sled. ... and then chasing snow to even use it? at least if I spent 15 grand on a car, I could at least drive it to work.

like I said, I am glad I'm not into it, I **** away money on dumb **** already. Last thing I need is another hole to throw money into... hey, let me tell you how this motor re,re,rebuild is coming

Sorry to hear about your engine issues. You said it was a machining issue with the head gasket? I apologize on behalf of machinists (I work in a metal stamping / machine shop. And I can tell you that if someone is having a bad day, or doesn't care, it can affect a lot of parts). Speaking of which, I hope that sled you're upgrading zed, is not an Arctic Cat. I have some *cough cough* first hand knowledge *cough cough* on the quality of some of the materials that goes into those.....

Dear god no!!! I currently have a polaris but wouldn't mind having a ski doo. I like what they've done to their 4 stroke machines

HKS stopper style head gaskets

a little 'clean up' work on the heads

I am in the market for a cosworth plenum with the machine end caps so if anyone has one lying around, let me know.

I had to buy a used longblock as a core as not much was salvagable from my previous engine (head studs and cams basically)

at this point I am staying with the HKS Fcon. wouldn't mind going to Haltech, just doesn't seem worth the money (eating the cost of the Fcon + removal + purchased of haltech + install)

I am going to 'max out' the aps kit and see if we can do 600 hp. maybe 16-17 psi. I think I have only seen one person do it and he had the 3" exhaust while I only have the dual 2.5". thinking maybe the cosworth plenum could push me close to 600.

first things first, lets get it up and running again. I think I should have everything back to me around xmas or so. heads are supposed to be done on the 15th of dec and the short block is at the machine shop, so we are waist deep into it. thinking positive thoughts. I am hoping the darkest days are behind me. actually kind of excited to get this project wrapped up

Just bought a 07 350z. Anybody Know of a good car audio shop in the Twin Cities that is familiar with the 350z's electrical?? Bought it from a dealer with no radio, or door speakers. As I was cleaning it out, I found Whisky plates in the trunk along with some unappealing wiring for a non existing sub enclosure. Not looking to spend a fortune, just want a radio that works.
The front tyres also have lots of negative camber wear, would anyone know of a reputable shop that can perform a alignment to Nismo spec?
Your help is much appreciated!

Best regards,

-Matt.J

Hi, Matt. I sure hope they gave you a smokin deal for that Z.

Jeff the Alignment Guy is who some of us go to. He's well known in the racing community.

Is there any damage to your wiring? Are your connections still there for the HU and speakers?

Thanks for the speedy reply. The radio connections all are intact for the head unit, but i'm not so sure about the rest of the wiring. I do know the driver door speaker is missing; unfortunately I did not see a connector when I pulled the speaker cover off. It dose have a viper alarm system installed.

Probably need to get rid of that viper system. Something tells me that the previous owner probably didn't do a good job with the wiring and might have messed things up.

I would go to Crutchfield.com and browse the head units there. I was just on that site the other day, and they have some decent double din units for around $100.

Welcome Matt, as stated Jeff the alignment guy is the man to see. This time of year is slower for him so timing is good, if you wait until spring then he can be several weeks out. He's kinda quirky but does awesome work and is very good at what he does, he sets up a lot of cars for track/autocross and can handle anything setting wise. Basically if your car is set up to handle the changes then he can make them.

Q50 getting a TT-V6....VR.......hmmmmm does this mean...........

btw @Loaded....as long as the OEM wires are intact I'm sure you could quickly redo the wiring & replace the radio yourself. The plastic trims are easy enough to take off and wiring is straight forward when you read-up/review the Z's wire diagram. I did it on mine when I put a custom sub & amp behind the drivers seat....was my first time also.

I don't think they're going to do that for the Z.

Why? Cause they are trying to separate the two; letting the Q60 challenge high performance luxury autos and the Z remains an enthusiast focused sports coupe?..........or focusing more on an exclusive FR-S/FOCUS-RS/CIVIC TYPE-R/MIATA/S2000 competitor (so going for lighter, 240style, and I4-Turbo)?.......or are they going for the April fools idea of a crossover Z!?!
