Looks like I'm getting up early on Thursday if I want to make it to Lexington by 11am from St Louis. Didn't realize the time zone change. Frack!

No, spending the night in St Louis. I'll be in the caravan with a couple of guys from there, and we just realized about the time zone change. I have to leave by 5am from STL.

 

I was just told here that there's a massive North Central Caravan.
Perhaps we can link up our Toronto Caravan with yours?
We'll be over-nighting (Wednesday night) an hour north of Lexington. We're planning on leaving the hotel at ~ 8:00am (give or take depending on other's meeting up with us). I see Sunset123 (Chris) in your group as well.
I think we may be able to manage to get to your Lexington meet up point by ~ 10:00am - ish. Although we probably wouldn't look to be waiting around much and like to make the most of the early day driving.
Of course we can play that by ear, but it would make for one humongus caravan if our two groups did link up.

If you're overnighting near Lexington and plan on leaving at 8am, I think you could probably sleep in a little and wait another hour or so to meet up with us.

 

Most of the group meeting at Lexington will be arriving at 11-11:30 AM from St. Louis, Michigan, and Ohio. They will be getting started about 5 AM to arrive by 11 AM. Can you guys hold tight for about an hour? Our plan is to leave the meeting point in Lexington by 12PM, and arrive at Fontana between 4-5 PM.

How many do you have in your group?

We should have no problem meeting at the appointed time.
I think we may have about 4 to 5 cars starting out from Toronto and a few others meeting us enroute.
Do you know what radio freq you'll be using?

 

We'll determine the frequency once we meet in Lexington. No point in figuring that out now since the range is only a couple of miles.

 

I have two Cobra microTALK 14 channel radios.


Channels 1-7 are FRS/GMRS, and 8-14 are FRS (Family Radio Service) only. I don't know if it makes a difference, but maybe its better we not us the shared channels 1-7.

I really don't have alot of experience with the radios, so I don't know what channel is best. Maybe we go with Channel 10?

Where in Cincy & what time are you leaving? (I'm the first exit after the BS bridge) I'm trying to find a group to drive with (to Knoxville) ... I have to pick up my navigator @ the Knox airport & will solo on from there.

 

We are meeting up at the first rest stop off 75/71s in kentucky. I think its like exit 177. We will be there at 10am thursday. My number is 513-203-6606 if you have any problems.

If we make good timing we may press on to Lexington itself.
I was looking for a Holiday Inn close to the Chick-A-Fil and came up with this -
It's less than 3 miles from that meet up spot. Is this Holiday Inn easy to get to from the Interstate? And is it an easy go from there to the Chick-A-Fil as well?

We need a dedicated videographer. Would be cool to have someone get head of us, stop at overpasses, side of the road, sharp turns etc. and catch us all blowin' by.
