LOL - Thanks but it's a 6 year old Canon Rebel with the out of the box AF lens. I used to have a small backpack of lenses. But me, being a dumbass, set the backpack down in a grass parking lot to get some car shots of a previous car I had and drove off leaving $1500 in lenses.

Derek's lens and Deepu's setup are lightyears ahead of mine. I just shoot large images and crop till I get what I need. Hopefully the quality is still there after cropping.

Most of the shots I took were over my shoulder with the convertible top down, across my left arm or resting on top of my hand on the steering wheel. You can't imagine how many scrap shots this causes so I shoot in sports mode 3 at a time.

Lenses make huge difference, camera not so much. I would definitely suggest buying atleast a decent lens if you can. Past weekend at a family event I shot some with my new camera 7D, but I think the lens is what makes them interesting. These pics have no editing whatsoever except for the border.

Since this is Zdayz thread, not posting images, just links. Click if you are interested.

Shot with 7D / EX430 / 17-40 F4 L

sorry brian, i was talking about derek's. in one of lee's iphone shots, it shows derek (i think?) taking a shot with a long-*** lens. not that your shots aren't great though, too.

deepu, fantastic shots - you're right, a really good lens is the ticket. i'd love to be able to get down to f4, to take shots at higher shutter speeds and not need a flash. well, high enough that they don't come out blurry... heh. more expensive lenses mean better optics too.

how do you like your 17-40? is that a good go-to lens you mostly use? i want a good wide angle and a good zoom...looks like i'll have to look into that one.

sorry to derail the thread...again! heh.

Yes, I have 10-22, 17-40 F4L, 50, 70-200 F4L

If you want just one look at 24-105 L, its an expensive lens but gets you good optics. If not, look at 28-135 IS, its very decent and can be had for cheap. In fact, I am selling one. Let me know if anyone is interested. It's brand new in the box.

Here is the amazon LINK

PM me if interested

Here are the rest of my crappy shots. Keep in mind it's a 6yr old camera and a 40 yr old pair of eyes. Besides shooting and driving is not easy.

I thought I might as well post up the rest of the ZdayZ caravan pics. PM me if there are ones you want emailed to you.

This burned down a few weeks after ZdayZ. It appears that lightning struck it and completely destroyed it. Irony eh?
