hey i wanna go too!!

too bad i cant. exams all week and to top it off, my part hasnt come in yet. i dropped off my car at tamaroff today to get my new front tires installed. i get a call back saying that they gave my tires to someone else. this was 2 hours after i dropped it off. this was a scheduled appointment. what kind of idiots do they have working there?

here was one of our priceless conversations.
the idiot: whats your number, the one you gave me doesnt work.
me: i gave u 2 #'s and both work. my home and my cell.
the idiot: well what are the #'s
me: i write them down to confirm the #'s are correct.
the idiot: oh well, we called and they said u werent there.
me: I THOUGHT THE #"S DIDNT WORK!!!?!?!
the idiot: ........

i wait 2 weeks for the tires. when i call them they say oh ya theyre in, bring your car in. i do that, and the tires arnt there. whats the issue here? i've never has this problem with toyota. is toyota that good or is nissan just that dumb? i missed 2 of my classes and took the day off work for this crap today and got nowhere. last time i go there. bla!

 

I know that Tamaroff sends all of the tire work over to Belle Tire -- I just had mine done there.

Mark at Tamaroff mentioned that there is one guy over at Belle who is very familiar with the Z tire issues and does all of the alignment and tire swaps... So, my guess is that Belle gets the tires and Tamaroff bills them to Nissan. I doubt (but I'm not sure) that the parts counter at Tamaroff handles the tires...

This is probably why they didn't let you know until 2 hrs. later, because when they brought your car to Belle Tire, they were told that they sold them to someone else! Whatever the reason, sounds like you got screwed...!

actually Nissan is sending the tires in directly. They are coming in from dallas I believe (a tidbit I learned from Dick Scott!!). I would never go to tamaroff after the reaming they tried to give me on my wife's accord a while back. I wanna go to the track!!! Dam vacation!! . ETX any idea on an install price?

 

actually, your right about the belle tire thing enzineer. they did send the car out to them because of this z specialist you mentioned. the problem is, i set this appointment up 4 days in advance. couldnt they call in ahead of time and make sure that the marshmellow belle tire man hadnt eaten my tires?? anyway, new topic.....this is just getting depressing.

i know what etx's install cost was....lol, but ill let him tell you. im now aiming to hit the track on saturday, IF all goes well. we'll start planning our 2nd meet when jason decides to get back here.

I think I'm going out today in the Z, and probably next week in the eclipse once I get my MSD dis-2 back from MSD.

Jason has been on vacation for a month. I wish I had his job.

Injen is giving me the run around on the exhaust. I paid for it on March 7th and they have not sent it. I may be gogin to Milan tonight to watch. I only live ten min. form there. I might go on Saturday as well. Hope to see a Z or two run down the track.

I am hearing some really bad things about Tamaroff. I don't think I even want to drive by the dealership let alone get work done there.

 

My friends dads shop did it. Cost of paint and materials + case of beer. They would probably charge you ~$150-$200 to paint and install one. This is one of the best shops around IMO, and I'm not just saying that because it's my friends family shop.

I think I am going to head down to milan right after work today in the Z to see if I can pull some better 60ft's.

 

The dented hood thing pissed me off, but they fixed it, no questions asked. At the same time I got the tire "side to side" swap for the feathering issue, picked it up and it was completely detailed.

My salesman came out and wondered what the heck I was in there for (remembered my name, of course remembered the car, etc.) and started looking at the paint on the rest of the car... The body manager came out and was buffing on some factory orangepeel in the rear with some rubbing compound to see if he could improve the shine.

I was standing there watching the two of them scrutinize my entire car with a grin on my face.

They've done okay by me so far. Mistakes happen (dented hood)... this time I had someone to blame and they took care of it. I could see that happening at a Quaker State place and having a *huge* hassle trying to get them to fix it...

I luckly have not had any problems with my Z. I really hope it stays that way, I can see them laughing at me if I ever took it in for warranty repair. I got mine at Tamaroff as well.

Who was the guy at the meet that works for Nissan?! I need to ask a favor of him.

 

i think tamaroff is selective with their good service. finally got my new tires put on. tire roar is gone....lets hope it lasts.

after i picked up it, my rep comes over and starts assuring me that the problems were not her fault, and it wont happen again. 231445th time is the charm i guess? they attempted to wash my car. the rims were still flithy, water spots and streaks everywhere. there was grass all over my mud gaurds. i wonder why....im not going to even think of what they could of done with my car. im done with them anyway. i cant wait til i get the "rate our service" card.

damn etx. your coming too close to my 12.84 1/4. i wont be able to make it this saturday either. part's not and wont be in by then. ill give you another day to try and beat my time. but its on come next wednesday. nice job though.

 

etx, Sorry man. I had to work late then I went to the gym. I thought I would be up for going last night but getting up at 5am I was dead tired when I got home.

 

Just wait until I actually tune the thing. I just installed the walbro 255lph fp so it's running even richer than it was before.

 

Has anyone checked to see what other Zs are running with TT. Is anyone getting below 12?

 

Can anybody think of anything cool to put on my new nismo spoiler?? Either a cool graphic or something cool to airbrush. I have a redline.

 

I don't think anyone has hit the 11's on a stock motor, I could be wrong.


Please don't airbrush your Z. It's your car, but seriously that will just do more damage than good. Just my opinion... Stickers are ugly as well. The best thing you can do is make sure you have a good job done on the install of the wing. Nothing looks better than nice clean body work.

MDacko. I know a guy that has a store in the mall (Nails of all things - Straight though) who has a blue Z. I am going to TCs in Ypsi tonight and he hangs out there. I will ask him if he was parked next to you. It was most likely him. His name is Tom.
