ETX, hope everyhting isn't that bad. If it were me, I would go to this guys house and ruin his day. Then I'd smash the **** out of his car. Just kidding of course I have the stock sway bars if those are bent out of shape. I also have the 18 inch stock wheels and tires. I can't remember if you had the 17 or 18 inch.

Cool Yancy, thanks! I Have the 17's, I like the way they look better. I'm thinking as long as the wheel is ok I wont replace it, because I plan on getting those bronze volks some day. If I need the sway bar ill let you know.

Honda man beware he will get his one day I am sure of that!!
Just so we know what part of the area does he live in so he doesn't make the same mistake twice!! I would say that would be real bad for him than!!! Glad you are ok, the Z can be fixed faster and better than you could!

Does anyone know of a good place to get me front bumber re-painted? Unfortunately, I'm looking to sell the Z in a few months here, and would like the front end to look as good as possible. Also, an estimated cost. Thanks.

ETX, that is terrible news, is there any damage under the hood? or damage to the turbos and their piping? I'm crossing my fingers, hope the damage report from Dick Scott is minor. When you bring it to Dick Scott service dept, try to get Doug to assist you, because the other serve rep, Marty, is not so good.

This is just another one of many incident where destructive/mean people who are jeolous of 350Z will do. So please be carefully out there while in the 350Z!!

I like the "DetroitZ" name better, thanks for stepping up and creating the site.

Mickey

I JUST got the Z back on friday from the Tire Feathering deal and now this.

The Forum should be ready tomarrow or the next day. I still need to find time to do the graphics for it.

There goes my Z, .

sorry to hear about your mishap etx. we should all drive up to this guys house with our 350z's and slap him around a few times. this way he'll get scared and move his a$$ over the next time he sees one.

if it makes you feel better, i got pulled over today and got a ticket.

actually it could of been a lot worse. i was speeding (a mere 16 over the limit) but since i was only keeping pace with the vette infront of my he let me off on the speeding, didnt even write it on the ticket. to top it off, i took out my nissan booklet that had my insurance and registration stuff in it last week when i was supposed to go to the track, and never put it back in the car. he asked for it and i didnt have it. this cop was cool about it though. he didnt give me anything for not having proof on insurance, only gave me a warning for not having proof of registration (no points, no fine), BUT he did give me a ticket for my tinted windows. no points, but probably a $70-100 fine. he even went as far as explaining to me as to why he gave me the tint ticket which is more then i expect from a cop anyway. they usually just throw a ticket in ur face and take off. this guy could of made me his b**** if he wanted, but he was cool about it. good man.

oh and i saw a red 350z on hines drive and another silver one on ford road. almost brought a tear to my eye.

mzack, that mist and wipe stuff you told me to get is crap. but i just had to buy a few more bottles of it to have around incase i was desperate.

man, i rode in Yancys car last night, it was fricken amazing. fastest car ive ever been in. im so addicted to turbo now!!!

you completely stole the show at bdubs last night man, ive never seen so much attention payed to a car before. i was ashamed to have my Z parked next to yours, i have some work to do!

im currently in a fight with Greddy because the front lip of the kit doesnt fit at all, and looks shitty as hell. they better give me a new one, i got a damn crappy mold. its embarrasing to have a body kit on my car that fits that badly.

I just got off the phone with Dick Scott Service. They want $330 for the Upper control arm, installation, and an alignment. That's cheaper than my $500 dedictible. They wanted to replace the wheel too because it's got a little curb rash. But I told them If it's not bent I don't want to replace it becuase I plan on getting the Rays Nismo wheels. Well a new STOCK 17" wheel is $550! That's insane, those wheels suck. They are heavy as hell. So the guy is going to try to get me a deal on the Bronze Rays. I dunno if I can afford that right now.

You guys going to BW3 next week? Mabye I'll come out.

The forum is up. http://www.DetroitZ.com I still need to do the graphics, but I put something up for now. Everyone come over and sign up!

ETX,
cool, I just registered and signed in. Looks like I may have a second home.

As for Alignment by Dick Scott, they contract it out to Firestone(on Ford Rd. Canton). Since Dick Scott does not perform the alignment in house, they are trusting 3rd party to do the proper job. Be sure you ask for the alignment spec(showing before/after) from Dick Scott, as this spec sheet should be given from 3rd party to Dick Scott.

When I had my alignment done at Dick Scott, Marty assured me the alignment is performed correctly, that the car is all set. Upon picking up my Z, I request to view my alignment spec sheet, which showed the following:

Vehicle: 03-04 Altima
Front Left and Front Right specs only, nothing on Rears

I asked Marty again if my Z has been properly aligned, the response is again "Yes, it has". After explaining what's on the spec sheet, Marty said that "the rear is in spec, so it's not printed out". I calmly point out that rear tires looking like / \, meaning alignment likely not performed. With his bluff being called, Marty made a phone call, came back with many apologies. I suggested that I personally take my Z to Firestone for alignment. I now have spec for my alignment(Front and Rear), it is based from 350Z(not Altima), and rear camber and toe has been corrected to within spec.

It should be Dick Scott's responsibilty(not mine) to check Firestone's work. So double check the work being perform, don't just take their word.

Rgd,
Mickey

I did not explain clearly... The "spec" or "spec sheet" is referring to the alignment print out sheet, this sheet is generated by the alignment shop while doing the alignment service. It shows your before and after alignment value.

And you are right, the Nissan recommended spec value is pretty easy to get.

Mickey

Mickey,
I've had the same run around from other shops. They assume you know nothing, then proceed to treat you like an idiot. I make it a point to ask for the alignment printout before I hand over the keys. In one case, I had the alignment redone at their cost just for the specs.

btw call me to get together,I still need to check out your car.
