yea im gona buy some of it in preperation for the problem. i think it might be a "caking problem" when the bulb is hot and u got some dirt on it it kinda crystalizes or something i duno.

but yea i want to get some cheap black donought rims "spare tire kind" that are 17 inch with a think profile like 200-225 and then some really nice snow tires that are thick. im hoping with this combination my car is a inch higher off the ground. funny how im trying to make a sports car higher off the ground, but i dont want to be a snow plow.

you know what. i was thinking of using my drag rims (16x8) and just slapping on the snow tires to those. the one bad thing about it is that ill have 2 different sets of rims on my car. ghetto i know, but i dont want to deal with last years problems all over again.

what do you guys recommend for snow tires on a 16x8 rim?

Mysunset,

Since you have front all season tires ( I think that's what we were looking at on Saturday) instead of the RE040, you should only need to mount winter tires on the rear. I would get the thinnest tire that fits on your rims. On the snow, less footprint is better. Also, if you only put 2 snow tires, they should always go in the back as you can deal with the front slidding but much harder when the rear breaks loose.

right the fronts were replaced with all season tires when i got the feathering tsb done. so ill just reuse the stock rims then?

blizzaks it is. jon let me know what size tires you end up getting so i can get an idea. i wont be getting the tires until probably early december so i have some time to kill.

jon,

i think i found out what caused my backfire. i talked to a few ford racers that knew their stuff with nitrous. they said backfires were usually caused by a very rich condition and asked me if my bottle was near empty and weather or not i had purged before spraying. my bottle was full, but i DID forget to purge.

that explains why i had the backfire. a lot of fuel and not enough nitrous to vaporize the fuel. what ended up happening was fuel puddled inside the intake and poof. this also explains why there was fuel in my intake pipe. the 87 octane only made things worse since it ignites a lower temps then higher octane fuel.

they said that purging becomes more important for safety (rather then performance) with higher end shots...something like 75+.

thats one thing less to worry about, but im having tranny issues now. my tranny is slipping. might be something as simple as air in the tranny for the TC mod or TC cooler or something much worse. gonna get it checked out in the next few days.

Hey everybody, the XceedSpeed.com Fall BBQ is this Saturday (October 2nd) at 11am. Details are on their website here. A bunch of you came out for the spring BBQ and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. Let's try to get a bunch of Z's there again.

They provide hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone brings drinks, chips, etc. There's always tons of food, nice cars, and great people.

I've been to the last three, and they've been growing in size quite rapidly. Some pics from the spring BBQ: here, here, here, and here.

Hope to see you there!

Ryan

well, I will try and make it. Maybe I will goto Kazoo on Sunday instead of Sat. I would like to run the car before the next round of mods. Yancy, this is your chance to try out that 444.5 rwhp. Come on man show us the stuff or just show up and not run.

Darn, my driver side window does not work anymore ! We were just talking about that on Sat. Most of the time, when I get out of the car the1/2 in up does not work. Sometimes I can't get it to go down using the switch and this morning for the first time when closing the door, the window moved down by about 4-5 inches !! Another round of going to the dealer 3 times. Once to tell me the window motor needs to be replaced but they have to order, once to do the job, and a third time to have them fix whatever they messed up...

Please do share this dealership name with us! This will help us in avoiding them in the future.

Wish your window a speedy recover!

Mickey

u know...i've given up on going to other dealerships. im just going to go to dick scott for everything from now on. the problem with them is that you have a to about a week before its ur turn and they charge a bit more then other dealerships. its worth the piece of mind i guess.

is anyone going to the xceedspeed meet afterdarkz was talking about??

one last thing...is my sig at the bottom too wide? im getting sick of scrolling to the side to read a post and i was wondering if anyone else is getting annoyed with it?
