New York and New Jersey(north east) winters
Hi, in the past few years the snow didnt kick in much in this area, but what do you Z owners do in the winters; the ones that dont have beaters?
I heard blizzaks do wonders, but thought I'd ask from experience

THe z is almost undrivable in the snow. I was in philly partying and stayed at my friends apartment and woke up to snow. We were supposed to get 6 inches so i decided to get home before it got bad. It was the worst/scariest drive ever, there was only about a half inch on the road but it was coming down fast. I had to start in second gear and the traction control would come on right away while the rear would just slide to the right and tires spinning. Then stopping was insane, brakes vibrating as anti lock fought to keep me on the road. I will never drive my z in the snow, i had drivers behind me in jeeps and explorers beeping at me as i just sat there and spun in the middle of the intersection. I bought a 98 saturn that i use for work and now winter. I heard its a different story with blizzaks but the way the z is balanced and designed it still isnt' the best in the snow. My .02
edit: btw i was on stock 18's at the time

I've got Blizzak MZ-03's on stock 18" touring rims on my base model. I made it through the winter alright last year. The most snow I drove in was probrably about 5 inches. I even managed to make it up my driveway without slipping at all. I was really amazed at the difference between stock tires and blizzaks.

I don't know what you guys are talking about I drove my Z all through last winter and I commute an hour from NY into NJ for work. Without Blizzacks the car was difficult to drive but with the Blizzacks on I drove my Z every day and never got even remotely stuck or felt I was hurting for traction...no slidding fish tailing or anything....unless I was doing donuts...
I drove an hour home with 6" of snow on the ground up the GSP and the Z handled better my girls front wheel drive civic.
If I wasn't custom airbrushing the outside of my car we're doing I'd drive my Z in the snow with the APS TT.
Get the Blizzacks there a great buy from tirerack and will keep your car on the road.

I plan on taking my Z off insurance around the end of December and driving my 95 Celica until March... Save a few miles, some gas, and the risk of wrecking a beautiful car.
