More info NORTHEAST MOUNTAIN DRIVE
Please see initial thread earlier if you don't know what this is.
We took a "dry run" today to fully plan the route and make sure there weren't any unanticipated road obstacles/detours/etc that may cause problems on the day of. A minor change due to serious road work is going to be necessary but the overall route stays the same.
WHAT A RIDE!!!!!
Every driving enthusiast should do one pure pleasure drive like this at least once a year. The entire route from Westfield, MA to Stratton Mountain, VT covered 107 miles. Approximately 90 miles of that is pure adrenalin pumping twisties!! Much of the drive follows assorted mountain streams and waterways on one side of the roadway or another. Some of the roads are newly paved and in SUPERB condition. The dragstip is one thing, the track is another, but a long continuous ever-changing road trek like this is simply a blast. Great scenery also. And I saw more cows in one day than I had in my whole life. We will also pass through some interesting small hill towns.
One part of the agenda that will change is that there is not going to be a formal return trip. After the test run today, we determined that the drive is long enough, and we are planning on several in-between stops just to break things up a bit. Once at Stratton, we will eat, meet, and people can depart as they please from there. If there is interest, we can have a return trip but we can easily plan this from the resort.
Please e-mail to VGandevia@comcast.net for a full set of driving directions and detailed info on each stretch of road. Basic directions will also be available in hard copy on the morning of the event at the starting point.
There have been several inquiries about starting an on line list on this site, g350zforums.com and g35driver.com so we can start now.

Hmm......Over 200 views between g35driver, my350z and g350zforums and so far only 9 people signed up. I thought this kind of thing would have generated a lot more interest. Is it the date? Location? or what?

Thats all we got so far? Assuming 75% show up thats only 8. I was hoping we would have 15 or so..plenty of us up here in New England. I am getting up at 6 am to get to MA at 715, everyone else can too.
I guess that could be okay too since we won't have to break up the packs.

I may come, and my shipmate that also has an 06' Z may come. We are both in the military so we can't give a 100% answer until we get there. I know we both want to come since we haven't gotten to go to a meet or anything since we bought our Z's. We are stationed in Brunswick, ME.

Anyway, a smaller pack has its advantages too in terms of staying together.
Was definately a good time. Those roads were beautiful. Little traffic leaving at that hour, and with the expensive radar detector you had, it was fun playing.
I am definately down for going in the Fall. Entirely worth getting up at 6 am for.
