If you're meeting up in New Haven at 7:00 and went to ride up with me, I can meet you at the Mobil off Exit 21 on Route 91 North. You will have to turn right at the light when you come off the exit if you're coming northbound.
Yeah I know that exit -- I bought the Z at Middletown Nissan down the road a bit (turning left at the exit). We could do that -- I think that exit is about 15-20 minutes from where I am meeting a few people. From there we probably have about 50 minute drive to the Friendly's.

Perfect. I'll be at the Mobil in Cromwell around 7:15 AM. We'll head up from there and meet with Greg at Exit 37 and then head to Friendly's from there.

See you Sunday.

Vic,
I saw your post. I will be at exit 37 at the Mobil gas station. Do you think Jeff will be going?

Greg, I'm going to send Jeff an email and will let you know. I'm going to wait for the New Haven caravan and will plan to leave the Mobil in Cromwell around 7:30 to catch up with you. PM me your cell number again.

Also, do you have speedracer's cell #? This is in case we get delayed leaving your stop. We want to make sure that they don't leave without us.

now...now...ken......you know all about our weather scientist, if they say rain it means sunshine and if the forecast is sunshine it means rain......don't fret...anything could happen between Tuseday and Sunday......the winds could be blowing out to sea and the low pressure could hold off the high pressure off somewhere up there in Canada

There are all varying degrees of "rain". Actually if you look at the detailed forecast for the region we are driving in, it actually says 40% chance of showers. While I doubt it's going to be a bright sunny day, a few showers mean nothing. Remember, we will be in our cars most of the time. Very different from a beach meet or BBQ, etc. While we may have to slow things up a bit, remember, Formula One teams still race in the rain. I'm not worried. Now......if the forecast was for "Heavy Rain" like the day of the Cape Meet in May, that would be a different story, but that is clearly not the case.

In fact, it was supposed to have rained all day here (western MA) today, but we haven't had a drop yet.

we are still on!!!!!!

I am just listening to the weather forecast now and channel 3 (Hartford) is saying partly cloudy with chance of showers. That is way different than pouring rain.

Everyone coming up I-91. I believe "The Big E" is going on this weekend so traffic maybe a little slow through Springfield.

how did you figure me out so easily? lol. yea im the type of person who needs a nudge but for this the Z is giving me the nudge cus i really wanna have fun with it.

edit: i made such a brief first post because i asked all my questions and stuff in g350zforums.com thread.
p.s. if it still seems like rain, i dont think ill go because its a long drive out and back just to drive cautiously on rainy mountain roads.

30-40% chance doesn't count.

Shouldn't be too bad. Usually the traffic is on the route there, they get off I-91 pretty quick. At least, lets hope so.

Default A Word On The Weather.......

If you've been looking at the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend, you know it isn't exactly going to be a bright and sunny day. However, let's not get paranoid remembering the horror story of the weather at the Cape Meet last May. There is 40% (not 100%), CHANCE (not definite) of SHOWERS (not heavy rain). In any case, this shouldn't deter you all from coming one bit.

As I said previously, this is a very different event from a "meet" where people come up, park their cars, and socialize or BBQ outside. This event is a DRIVING ACTIVITY, and as such, we will be in our cars 90% of the time. If the roads are a little damp from time to time, no big deal. Sure we may not be able to let it rip like on dry roads, but it will still be plenty of fun. Some of you may also be surprised how well the tree-studded mountain roads are protected from the few sprinkles that might be present.

Anyway, the bottom line is that this is in no way shaping up to be anything even remotely resembling a major rain event, so let's not get all paranoid/bummed out. Everything is still most definitely on.

The point is that the weather forecast is just so sketchy about what is actually going to happen and when and where it is going to happen. It may be raining in one place and not in another, etc. The forecast now only calls for a 40% chance of thundershowers, which are usually in the afternoon and temps in the low 70's. Don't miss out. I don't think we will be "driving cautiously".
