Default State College PA Sighting - Silver, Bodykit

Saw a silver Z headed West on 322 around State College (I was headed East). It had a body kit on which looked quite nice. It actually looked very much like this Z: http://www.panhandlez.com/v2.wmv from what I could tell. I was curious if it was a local or someone just passing through.

That was probably me. I work at C-COR Inc. several months out of the year (across from Nittany Mall). I was there the week of 1/2 and I was driving west in the AM (arriving in SC around 8:15AM or so)...

I'll be there from April - September often, so if you are in the area, we should get together.

PS - I don't have that exact kit on my Z, but I have the Veilside V1 lip kit... similar to the lip kit on the car in the vid (which looks darn good btw)...

That was definitely you! Very nice car I like it!

I live and work in State College, so I'll be up here all the time. The Z is at a friend's garage for the winter, but it'll come back out in the spring.

Let's try to keep in touch!

Sweet deal. I see a few Zs around the area... Any way I can distinguish which one is you?

PS - Thanks for the compliment!

NP

It's an 06 Silverstone. I haven't done anything to it, so there's really nothing that sets it apart from any other 06 SS's. But, I haven't seen any other 06 SS's up here yet, so maybe I'm the only one for now. I'm really tossing the idea of an 07 around, though, but we'll see.

Hey man,

Are you back in town? I think I saw you on 322 in State College again a little before the 26 exit (which I assume you get off on to head out towards the mall). I was headed East in my SS Z.

Haha... Yeah I'm back in town for the week man. Jaunted the Z up here for the first time in a while since I drove my beater in winter. Got my new aerosync bumper on this saturday so the car looks a little different now, but generally the same...

Any other Zs in the area this week?

I must have missed your Z (which is a rarity for me!), but I had my eyes peeled for the cops, so that could be why...

Awesome man. Your car is looking great!

Yeah, cops seem to be out more now with the nicer weather. Especially on the stretch from State College down towards Lewistown. I only have a short little drive to work from northern State College to southern State College every day, so I just jump on the bypass and it's a quick hop. There haven't been too many cops there.. yet, luckily.

As for other Z's around here, I haven't seen too many. The only one I've seen so far this year (other than yours) is a < 2006 (older wheels) SS that's actually parked in the Geisinger parking lot across from where I work. I haven't met the owner, but it looks like he's a younger guy like myself. That's pretty much it, from what I've seen so far.

On a similar note, I stopped by the local Nissan dealership a few weeks ago as soon as they got their first 07 in to test drive it. It was a beautiful SMB convertible. Anyhow, I was on their website a few days ago and noticed that it's already gone, so there may be a SMB Z around here somewhere..

The SMB color is definitely sweet. I've been waiting for them to release something along those lines. Too bad I'd lose my **** on a trade in!

We should plan a Z get-together at some point in April or May in State College. At the very least there is the SC Brew Expo in July. Maybe we could do something the day before or after that since I'll be staying that weekend.

Yeah man, I also thought about trading in for an 07. It would kill me too, though, as I have an 06 with only 8k miles on it, haha. Unfortunately, though, I think I'm going to have to get rid of the Z anyhow. I want to buy a house this summer, and don't think I'll be able to with such high car payments Talk about depressing.. Obviously a house is a much better investment than a car, but it's crazy how attached you can get to the Z!

Shame to see the Z go, if it does. A house is more important though I would say... Definitely need to meet up before you get rid of her.

This entire thread is you guys going back & forth. Have you tried PM?

Nice to see a success story. What are the odds?

My Z is getting here first week of May. It sucks it won't be a few weeks sooner or I'd meet up with you guys when I come up for the Blue/White game April 21st weekend.

Hopefully my season tix come through for some games in the fall too maybe one of the early home games will have good weather to get a drive up to SC in the Z.

Haha, yeah. But I figured since we started a thread, we may as well keep the conversation there. If it's too much of a nuisance, though, I'm sure we can move it to PM's

That's awesome man. I'm guessing an 07? That would be cool to have a get-together for the Blue/White game, though it doesn't sound like there would be too many of us if you wouldn't have yours by then, and I probably won't have mine anymore

Are you in State College? Could the sighting have been you? Are you interested in attending a Z meet in the State College area?

If not, you really had no reason to click the thread, so I don't think our back and forth banter is that much harm.

I'm hoping by keeping this bumped to the top through convo we can pull out the other 5-6 Zs I know are in the area, but never post. If you are one of them, awesome, it worked...

EDIT: Ahhh, you drive a Boxster, so you really did have no reason to click the thread (because its highly doubtful someone would post a Boxster Sighting thread on a Z forum...) unless, of course, you own the rare Boxster Z... banter on nurseryboy.

Sounds like a plan bro. I'm here all summer through September and then I see a game or three too, so I'm sure we can work something out. You getting an 07? Specs?

Yeah, '07 Touring San Marino Blue. I got Sirius and the standard mats, kick plates, cargo convienence. I'll take pics once I get it. I'm sure i'll make it up there in the summer at some point with it so there will be opportunity. What do you do for c-cor by the way? Do you know a guy named Dan Hostetler? He went to PSU with me and last time I ever saw him he was working there.

edit: coupe. I'm buying it in pittsburgh area.

I only audit c-cor, so I'm not a c-cor employee... Name sounds familiar for some reason, but I do not work closely with him on anything. I believe he is probably an engineer or something?
