Spring Install, Southeast PA
Hey guys, I want to get some lowering springs installed in the next month or so and I live in southeastern PA. I have been calling around to a few shops and they all quote $250-$300 to do the installation, then another $70 or so to do an alignment. I have read a lot of posts on here where people are paying $150-$200 for the installation and claiming that $300 to do the job is robbery. (Alignment pricing seems to be consistent). So my question is: can you local guys recommend any reputable shops in southeast PA or northern Delaware that would install springs for ~$200? Any first-hand experience with these shops?
What I do know is that after installing springs on my previous car, and considering that I have a bit more money this time around, I sure as hell don't want to tackle that job again. Thanks in advance for the input!

+1 Motormouth is correct. We are a working (modding) club and encourage enthusiast to come in to do these types of mods. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the crowd, (albeit) they do like to bullsh!t alot as we do the work, and you will come back!
Actually, we just like to see what mods other people have done to give us ideas.
I actually wanted to come hang out when you guys first started having meets (what 6 months ago?) but I had no mods to do! I just ordered a set of 19" wheels/tires which are near OEM specs as fas as tire O.D. is concerned, but it's just not gonna look right unless I lower it. Plus I have a 2006 which comes from the factory with more wheel gap in the rear so it will look extra bad if I don't lower. One idea I was tossing around is buying the Hotchkis springs and then trimming the upper spring perch in the rears (there is a thread about it somewhere on here) to get a nice even drop all around. Think that's something we could get done in a day?
I probably wouldn't be doing this until early March or so, close to when I will be putting my new wheels on. The other thing is, I don't really want to do any of the work myself. I had help when installing springs on the old car and I don't have the gumption or the confidence to do the work myself. I would love to look over someone's shoulders as they did it though. I could definitely supply money, food, beers, etc. in return for the favor. Let me know what you guys think!

Well, if you supply the money, food, beer and a stripper, you could probably talk someone into doing it!
Seriously, we have a few similars, they like to "observe". In my opinion, you're missing in the fun, but we'll accomidate you.

Hey man, I'm local and I'm not sure what the going rate is, but I have a mechanic who does a lot of performance work and I could give him a call and see what kindof numbers he could do for you.
what is your shop? name and loc.

He's located right around the Paoli hospital right on business 30, it won't be any trouble at all, he's a really really good mechanic and he's done a lot of work on American Muscle cars and he had an INSANE Daytona Blue 350Z in there a few months ago and did all the engine work. I'll definitely give him a call and ask him for pricing.

Well I eventually took AbsolutSpeed's advice and went to Pancoast Automotive in Paoli. It was the same $250 as everywhere else but they got the job done in a day, and as far as I can tell the springs were installed correctly. Also it is located between home and the gf's work so I didn't have to inconvenience her too much to give me a ride to and from their shop to drop off and pick up. I never actually got to meet the mechanic Bruce in person because he was busy when I went by, but I spoke to him on the phone a couple times and he's a good guy. I'll recommend this shop to anyone in the area!
