Default Headed to NY this weekend. Recommendations on good pizza & sushi restaurants...

Me and the old lady are headed up to NY this Friday. We're staying @ "The Muse" hotel. It's in the time square area, from what I'm told. We've got some pretty good clubs and Jazz bars lined up already, as well as tourist attractions. What we're looking for is some authentic NY style pizza The old lady also wants to visit a hip sushi place. Anyone have any suggestions that are in the vacinity?

Thanks guys,
Val

41st and 9th on 9th ave $1 pizza I think its the best in the city. You can also try 33rd and 3rd on the corner they usally have a bouncer inside late night because its such a big crowd also one of the best I have had. Try the first place though and let me know what you think.

By the way if you are driving to NY w you Z there is a big meet in NJ as an added bonus if you want to join my club and roll down there only 45 min out side of the city.

Edit: didnt see where you were from....

I know that there's a bunch around amsterdam and 80th st. or so (sushi). For pizza, there are a bunch. I always get the "Ray's" pizza shops mixed up. There's Ray's, Famous Ray's, Famousr Original Ray's. There all pretty decent. Before the wife and I head out, I always check citysearch..com. Unfortunately I doubt you'll be able to get reservations for any of the better restaurants this late. However, the good thing about NY is that there are sooo many places to eat. Check out this link of descriptions for sushi. Hope you have a lot of fun, the Times Square area is really fun just to walk around because there is so much going on. Oh yeah, if you want a good hot dog, Gray's Papaya is around 2nd or 3rd street(check citysearch). Have fun.

Thanks for the info I'll look into these places. I think I saw Ray's pizza on the food channel once.

We ready have reservations at a restaurant on Saturday evening, called the "Green Room". We also reserved tables at the club and Jazz bar last week. My old lady is a good planner

I pretty phsyced about the whole thing. Never been to NY. I told the old lady I was going to talk with my deepest Texas Southern accent, to freak people out. She told me not to embarrass her.

Sushi Somba is great but it gets very crowded. I would say check out Sushi on Hudson its on the corner of Hudson and Perry. It's small but a great place for you and the wifey.

real pizza is only found in the boros now-a-days

Manhattan has been over run by crap.....altho John's brick oven pizza is pretty damn amazing and it's in the village...

also if you like mexican food.....1st ave btwn 9th and St.Marks Paquito's it used to be a whole in the wall with arguably the best Mex in NYC...it has now became a huge new restaurant but the same chef and menu....get yourself an ASADA burrito made with Beef and Black Beans...best $6 you'll ever spend!!!!!

Everyone I have sent there has become addicted
