I would like to invite you guys to try a time trial at Pocono and Lime Rock with CART. They are a great group, take your Z and try something really really fun.

Bump for this. I've had my Z at Pocono South and Lime Rock Park, and it was a blast. There are few things in life as exhilarating as tracking your car. If you haven't done so, give it some serious thought!

I'll be there august 31 pocono north I did the lime rock event and these guys run a great event. They let everyone get aquainted and then just went open track, plus the price is down right cheap.

I'd worry about brakes melting though. Stock 350Z brakes + track = melted calipers and rotors. Spirited runs through the Mountains are enough wear and tear on brakes, let alone an actual track run.

At the bare minimum you'd want to run race compound pads in your stock calipers. Aggressive street or stock pads will cook and send you straight off the track. Go for the big brake upgrade and turn laps without fear!

Track is actually easier on the brakes, because you can cool it down. Just run 3 laps and slow down. Most novices don't cook the brakes hard enough to worry anyway.

Plus it's legal too, I enjoy paying $60 a month for insurance and not have to worry about going to jail.

tmak26b, whats this about $60 for insurance? That's the main thing that keeps me off the track, is I worry about totaling my daily driver!

Clean driving record=lower insurance rates.

Unless you do something stupid, your chance of getting totalled on the track is no different than driving on the street. Technically if you don't do the timing part of the event, you MIGHT be eligable to get covered by your insurance company in case anything happens.
