Default NYC caravan to CT july12

This post is regarding the trip to the CT meet on july 12th. i know some of us NYC/longisland people are planning to go together. any suggestion where to meet and when? perferably some area very easy to find and not out of the way.

There are also some people from NJ going up as well, if you guys want to meet up some where in the city, let us know as well.
thx

Great idea with this thread. The only thing I will add is that there will be a couple of 350Z's at a rest area in Connecticut waiting ing for anyone that comes up from NY/NJ.

They will be at the rest stop on Exit 22 on Route 95 North. There will be a CS Track (guy's name is Mike) and a SS Touring (don't know the person's name). They will be there at 8:00 AM and will head north around 8:30 AM. If people are coming separately at least this is a spot where people can join up. If you see that it is after 8:30 AM and you're not near Exit 22, I would recommend just continuing north. From this rest area it should take no more than 40 minutes to Meriden.

Hey guys,

I'm about 80% sure of coming up there to the meet. I'll be coming from Jersey though.

I think a good place to meet would be that parking lot at fort totten, the bell blvd. exit of the cross island pkwy. where we had the mini-meet, it's within site of the throgs neck and it's right off the cross island. I think others from long island may want to set up another starting point where they meet prior to that then meet up with everyone else from nyc at fort totten. Then the whole crew can meet the other CT z's and anyone from the bronx at a meeting point along the way that they know about. Everyone must be very punctual for this to work but i think it can be done. Just picture all those z's driving around in a big caravan! I got goosebumps already.

Depends how fast you drive.

In actuality, it should take less than 1-1/2 hours to get to Hubbard Park from Fort Totten. It took two of us about an 1 hour and 20 minutes when we went to the mini-meet and we got lost a little bit once we got near the fort.

From Hubbard Park to Lime Rock it will probably take us an hour because of the large caravan we will have. It will take a little longer if stop along the way. I will be taking a ride either this weekend or next weekend to Lime Rock to check the route recommended by one of our other members (whitetrack) to verify the time it will take.

Actually, it will take me a little over an hour but it's an excuse to take the car out for a ride.

Keep me posted on what you decided regarding where and what time you will meet up to head north. There is a guy from Queens that will be picking his G35 Coupe the middle of this month and would like to join you guys for the ride up.

There are now actually two G35 Coupes from NY and one lives about 5 minutes away from Fort Totten. Let me know if this is where you decide to meet in the morning.

That would work. Let me know if this is finalized and I will advise all of the G35 owners and the people that will be waiting at Exit 22 in CT.

I've mentioned in other threads that all cars are welcome. The only thing is that they will have to park separately but that's not a big deal. My wife is coming with our other car and there may be a few other non-Z/G35 cars as well.
