Default Looking For An Apartment In Center City, Philadelpia

Hey guys, I am contemplating moving to center city. If anyone knows of good apartments, any landlords, etc please let me know.

I am looking for a 1 bedroom or loft, IN center city not south philly or manyunk or fishtown. I have excellent credit and no evictions so no worries there.

neighborhoods are: art museum area, rittenhouse square, washington square, northern liberties, jefferson hospital...

thanks if you have any leads!!

/Tom

I have a feeling I know where you're going to end up.

what kinda rent are you looking at?

there are plenty of places around which are close to center city but don't cost much, fishtown for one.

I'd suggest going in the city and getting one of the "rent" magazines...

I want center city. I want biking distance to my work (20th & market) which rules out alot of those 'suburbs'.

I have found a good number of apartments already in my price range and in the areas I am looking for, but asking people is always a good idea

^ guys, I know. I have already searched craiglist and philadelphia management and PW, etc, etc. I am not starving for cold leads, I was looking for reviews from people who live there, or a personal contact for a realtor (or whatever they call that)

thanks for the tips though, just want to make sure it's clear what I am looking for...

Ive lived in Queen Village. Its an awesome place and a few blocks from South St. (Christian & 6th) A short Hike to 20th and Market, but you can make it to Market easily and take the Subway from 2nd & Market.

sublet.com as well. obtw manyunk is a 45 min bike ride but tons of girls and bars in that area. pretty sure they have regional rail lines though. Try to stay away from northern liberties unless you don't like your Z. Also art mueseum area has alot of breakins of autos. Friend had a stock civic and it was broken into 3X in a year. Philly is a very dirty city and the roads suck just an FYI West chester is nice but the regional rail ride is 45-1hr. but the upside is that the train stops at 20th and market (suburban station) good luck there is a Z meet coming up soon outside of philly.

yeah, I live in Runnemede now, which is a 20 min patco ride to 16th & locust.

also, I would be garaging my car, or leaving it in NJ no street parking for me. the other reason I want to stay away from northen liberties is all the diry hipsters... I want to be as far far away from them as I can be. ugh.
