Default License Plate question

I live in PA, and I was wondering. Is it at all possible to order a different color or design for your license plate? I have a black car and the license plates for this state are blue and yellow. I just think it looks like ****. I know it's just one of those little things....but it bugs me. Was just curious, can anyone offer any help?

I don't live in PA, but there are enough cars in NY with PA tags to know that i've seen many PA cars with black specialized plates. Check the DMV website to see if you can find em.

http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/license_p...y_plates.shtml

Specialty Plates are manufactured in our standard plate colors - blue, white, and yellow. (according to the site) Ugly colors imo. Florida has like a bazillion different themes and colors

New Jersey's theme is ****.

At least your theme isn't ****. (and you also don't get tickets for not mounting it on the front)

Just paint the yellow bottom portion blue like the top...

that should hide well against your black car....

Yeah I have a Black PA D.A.R.E. plate... got it in 2001 with my last car... held on to it because they stopped selling them... now the DARE plate is the same crappy Y/W/B with a dare logo... blleeegghh!

basically you are stuck with those colors or a wildlife and a railroad plate

Agreed, I got a black D.A.R.E. plate back in 2004 on my previous car and carried it over to my black Z. I wasn't aware at the time that they were discontinuing the black, so I'm really glad I held on to mine.

I wonder if license plates can be transferred between owners? i.e. can someone sell you their old DARE license plate and the DMV reassigns the plate number to your car title?

I guess maybe I'll look into getting a Wildlife one. Still blows but it's alot better than the Blue/Yellow plate.
