Default Ban Springfield Nissan on route22 in NJ

So they charged me $143 to configure the sensors on my new wheels to work with the TPMS. This after they said $50 on the phone, and I drove in at 7AM to get it done cause they said I had to be the first one in line to do such a small job. So I show up at 7Am and they weren't even there til 7:15. Whatever, I waited, they took just over an hour and told me it was going to be $150 cause they guy that said $50 didn't understand what he I was asking them to do. They did give me 10% off but that barely covered the tax. They weren't the most polite either. In addition, i'm nearly certain they put a ding in my door, which they claim with 10000% certainty they did not. I check my car out each time a drive it and always look for things like that, i'm fairly sure there was no ding. Anyway, the ******** wouldn't even come out to look at the damage. I'm writing a letter to teh dealership to complain about him.

Btw, i went to this dealership cause the one i bought my car with has a reputation for not treating people's cars well. They put a scratch in my z last time i took it in for service. That time i threatented legal action and they paid to ahve it fixed. but still, i can't seem to find a decent nissan dealership around here.

I also own a 07TL and the Acura dealership with that one (Park Ave Acura in Maywood) never ever gives me a hard time bout anything. Nissan dealerships so far have given me nothing but poor experiences. sorry to vent guys, but i'm pissed bout that ding.

That does suck. I know exactly what you are talking about because I have the same problems here with Nissan Dealers. I wish I could just take my car into the Acura dealer here as well because they always do a great job.

$143 sounds like 1.5-2 hours labor...that sounds about right to set the TPMS sensors, no? Don't they have to unmount/remount the tires on each wheel to set the sensors?

No they use a tool outside the car to program them , he got ripped, Nissan of the Eastside (here in Wash.) quoted me 50 bucks after I got my Volks put on and traded TPMS sensors from another car.

I say ban!

Yeah, I left my old sensors on the factory wheels. I had a brand new set of sensors put on the new wheels. They were already mounted and installed on the car. I rolled in, all they had to do was program/configure it, and thats it. No wheels or tires for them to remove. They just felt like ripping me off. Unfortunately, since i woke up at 6am to be there at 7am, and don't have much time to keep doing this, i agreed to do it. But they just lost a customer.

who cares, they are in new jersey and i have no intention of ever going there. perhaps this would be better in the regional section since it applies to those in your area

Concordville Nissan quoted me $80, Conicelli Nissan quoted the same but said if the wand didn't work it would be about double. The whole reason I wanted it done was because someone on here said an audible tone would start sounding after 30 minutes if the tpms sensors were not working. I have an 06 Z and it never happened, so I never had them activated. Sounds like the price was in line, but with that kind of service, I say ban as well.

If i drive on the highway for 30min the low tire light comes on in my 03 but thats it... and once you turn the key off and back on its gone... as for 1.5 hours labor that does not seem right but in dealerships when things like that are customer pay they tend to rape you... just how it is.
