FEELER: Team 350G'z Meet - GoKarting!!
#1
- GoKarting!! - Sept. 28th - Wallingford, CT -
This past weekend I was at OnTrack Karting in Wallingford, CT. 1,700 ft long track. Each Heat is 8 mins long -- which is plenty of time for 10+ laps and you will be out of breath by the end. The group rate is two races for $30 (as oppose to $22 per race without group rate). I was there with about 10 ppl this weekend and it was awesome. I definitely want to hit it up again -- and this time, with some fellow Z owners!!!
This will be in the Fall. September 28th is the planned date. This would is a Sunday.
The $30 package includes two heats for 8 mins each (rougly 9-13 laps). If you do not have your own helmet, one will be provided but you must purchase a head sock to do so ($2). Helmets are free of charge, so your total would be $32. Food is not included, but they are flexible and we could probably work something out.
The first heat is really a feeler depending how comfortable you are in the kart. I was running 42-44 second lap times my first time out, and hit a 39.7xx my second time out, which was good enough for the Top 25 for the Day. That was with me driving my *** off -- the track record is a 35.7xx I believe, so I was still well off the pace. These aren't your "average" go-karts. They are fast, they turn and they are perfectly capable of spinning out or sliding out from under you under braking. Best go-karts I have been on in my life.
www.ontrackkarting.com - Website has a video of a lap around the track.
On Track Karting operates a 63,000-square-foot indoor karting facility located in Wallingford, CT. With a 1,700 ft track, and a fleet of high performance Sodi Karts, it is one of the longest and most competitive indoor racing facilities in the country. Our 8,000-square-foot build-out includes several viewing areas to watch the action, a lounge with leather couches and a big-screen TV, an arcade, vending machines (with plans for a grill/snack bar), and an event room that can accommodate groups of up to 48 people, so come on down and check us out.
If you can round up ten or more friends or colleagues, we can give you discounted rates on racing! For groups that have ten or more people, running a minimum of two races, it will cost $15 per person per race ($30 total per person for two races). Best of all, you don't have to be a member to get the discount!
I need at least 12 people to make it happen. You need 10 minimum for the group rate, and you still get charged whether someone shows up or not (ie if you have 10 on the list, 8 show up, the other two still have to be paid for, but someone else can use their races).
If your significant other would race, please +1 next to your name as that will count as another person towards the total.

I won't put up an exact date until I know if we are having the Inskip Octoberfest meet, and when that is. Prefer to spread out the Events so people aren't driving somewhere every single weekend. Then I have to figure out payments since they want deposit of $50. Also if you say 10, you are getting charged for 10 and if people don't show up, they have to be paid for anyway (someone else can take their races, but still).

For the people on the list so far, would you prefer late September, or mid October?
