Default Inspection

I have a highly modified 2004 350z that wont pass inspection anywhere. Does anyone know of a place that will pass it or a method to get it pass inspection? Thanks

Massachusetts just changed their laws this year and do not allow modified exhaust
Finding someone who will put their business in danger to pass your car is getting tougher and tougher.

G/L on the search.

that stinks - I have more customers than I can count in NJ who's cars pass easily, all extensively modded. If the car is tuned properly and not throwing an CEL's, it should have no issues passing

I would bring mine to Fitchburg next to the old SkyCycle location. They always passed me no problem. I can check to see if I can get the name later today.

Ghey, I've seen them test for that. What inspection station did you go to? Please don't say Kilmer in Edison.

Wow...modified exhaust as in "Aftermarket", or in CAT delete?

If thats the case we are all screwed.

CAT Delete's always been a fail. So I'm thinkin it's basically just aftermarket. We all need to find a shop that will let us slide.

Reading over MA's FAQ's on State Inspections I came across this:

I was told my vehicle failed because I only have one plate. I am certain I was only issued one plate. What should I do?
Motor vehicles in Massachusetts must have two plates affixed to the vehicle, except for vehicles with the green and white passenger plate and Dealer, Repair, Owner-Contractor, and Farm plates. If you have lost your second plate, the easiest solution is to simply request new plates from the Registry, and then have your vehicle re-inspected with the new plates. If you have a vanity or reserve (low number) plate that you wish to keep, you may order a plate at any Registry branch. You will be provided with an order receipt which you must keep with your Registration until your replacement plate has arrived. Use of a substitute paper plate is permitted during this time.

NOTE: Many people think they received only one plate because they are stuck together. Be sure to check behind the plate that is on your vehicle now!
