Default Lawyer needed.

Here's the scoop folks. I was driving down the pike following a fellow Z member and I looked in my rearview mirror and a cop was right there. I was doing 85 in a 65. bad news.

i got pulled over, licesnce and registration. all that ****. cops comes back with a $200 ticket and a warning that i have an "aftermarket exhaust"

i cant take anymore points on my insurance and i need the ticket dropped considering it is my second in the past two months.

i am considering hiring a lawyer for this so it would be easier to fight and most likely be dropped.

anyone know of a good/better game plan? anyone know of a lawyer who would help me? i talked to a few lawyers on the phone today and they said to take the case and simply show up in court was 1000-1500 which is absolutely insane.

help me out ppppppplease!

Wow for Traffic court?! Thats way over priced. Usually $500 tops!

I take it you don't have any Cops in your family?! lol They usually know all the judges and DA's! Comes in super handy. My advice is to make some Cop friends quick and shop around for a cheaper lawyer.

I had an exhaust ticket once before with my RSX which I later traded in. Now when i see Cops i roll down my windows and go easy on the pedal.

I don't know what kind of lawyers you've been to, but in NJ at least, the OP's numbers are the going rate unless you have a "hookup". I've been down that road to many times.

Another reason why I love my TurboXS, it looks stock!!

Ive paided less the $500 for a lawyer in CT. Cops can **** themselves in regard to "Aftermarket" exhausts. Seriously, its sad they even give warnings for such things. What about the baffleless Harleys? Anyway, enough of my mini rant..

Here you go. Its the Rodis Defense lol

Seriously, keep shopping.

I got pulled over doing 115 on 95 like 3 years ago and i hired a lawyer and he brought it down to like an 80mph ticket. I couldve gotten my license suspended but he helped me out. I only paid 500 for him. All he did was go talk to the cop and explained that i wont do it again and told him if he could do me the favor and drop it to a lower speed because i needed my license to work so the state trooper lowered it. After thinking about it i really didnt need the lawyer all i had to do was go talk to the trooper and see if he could help me out. Def. keep looking because a grand just to show up to court and not garuntee anything thats crazy. No one will garuntee but im sure some one else can do it for a lot cheaper and most likely better. Gool luck man hope u find someone. If you want the number to the guy i used pm me and ill give u his number and see if he can help u out but hes outta RI so idk. Maybe

Lol, You are right. When you said pike i assumed NJ Turnpike - as if there are no other turnpikes on the planet, hahaha. Goes to show how close minded us NJ folks are. Anyway, sorry I can't help. Good luck.

Apeal, apeal, apeal...

if you have a valid argument half the time the trooper wont show which is an automatic default and win for you..

if they do, make sure you have done your homework on the exhaust laws etc and be sure to see how he got you speeding, clocked, estimated, lidar etc..

Good luck man.

which brings me to my next statement.

I'm selling my Z.

Cops+Tickets+Insurance = wayyyy too much money

Time to take a step back, save up some money. Move out of the parents house. Then look into a sports car. Cobra? Z06? We'll see.

gd luck with finding a good lawyer...i got a speeding ticket 3 yrs ago when i had my Charger...i did 95 in a 45 over the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly and WOULD HAVE got a $300 ticket and 5 points on my DL if i didnt get a lawyer, so i found this awesome lawyer who only charged me $550 and dropped it to 2 points and a $99 fine...which was good enough for me...i didnt care to much about the fine but i couldnt afford the points...it only took about 6 mins in court...i was happy at the end...

I'd hook you up if you were local. A friend of mine is a Lawyer and got me off with probation for a nasty speeding ticket. Also, My uncle is an investigator and rocks in Traffic court. Got me out of a 25 mph over with a p-o-p. The rest of the times I just name dropped and was let go.

Its all in who you know.
