Default RT Tuning = Awesome

I just wanted to thank RT Tuning for the work they did to my car. It wasn't anything crazy or expensive, in fact, just regular stuff. Even though it wasn't a $10,000 build, they still took care of me like it was. Everyone there is really friendly, easy going, and easy to talk to. For all of the military members, rt tuning will take care of you. So everyone don't hesitate to go to Vince. Just another notch of excellence on their belt. Thanks again guys, definitely plan to go to you for more things in the future!

Yeah, they are great. Plan to get my suspension and dynotune done by them as soon as I get more funds.

+1. They are doing my "10k build" over there. I asked them to take their time with it, so we've had the chance to discuss back and forth our options for a solid built NA motor w/ nitrous and have been making sure we're doing it right. I know they're a busy shop, but have all taken their time to help me with any noob questions I have and Vince has given me and education in dyno and tuning. I'm very excited to go back when I go FI, but I'm going to try to max out the all motor potential first.

Thought I would bump this thread. I just made an appointment for tomorrow at R/T Tuning to get my rear wheel studs replaced as well as swap my rear tires from side to side (due to camber wear on inner edge). Anyone here had 19" tires installed at R/T? Any issues with wheels getting scratched/scuffed or anything like that?

Sweet deal guys. I don't know if it would help you sry110, since you probably got the work done already and the fact i have 18s, but they took care of my rims, absolutely no problems, scratches, or anything on my sbc enkei rp03s.

Thanks for the feedback. Heading over there this afternoon for rear tire swap and rear wheel stud replacement (longer studs so I can run spacers). Looking forward to starting a good relationship with this shop!

Not yet. I still have to finish my meth set up and find a place that can fill my nano tank, and I have to get a new y-pipe, after that, I'll be ready to tune. I'm not really into doing as much car stuff as I used to be, trying to get a bike, lol.

Once I have the y-pipe in, tap my intake for meth, get some boost juice, nitrous and nano filled, I will get osiris tuned, one for n/a and one for nitrous, they said it won't be too much more to do a nitrous map since its not really fi and not really n/a, you know.

You interested in buying a meth kit? I have a spare one, lol.

Let us know how it goes for you sry.

Nice to see RT Tuning still getting great reviews from this forum. I can vouch for them also! They tuned my SR powered S13 to the sound of 350+whp a little over 2 years ago and also gave me their proven drift spec alignment. In fact, I stepped into full boost yesterday and the car still goes ffffffaaaast Vince, very nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. Matt, runs the drift events. Very nice and is a pretty good driver fyi. I actually found the shop through him. Pat, if he's still there, he's like the behind the scenes guy who get's sh*t done mad scientist style. If you need custom welding/fabrication done I also suggest the shop next door run by Nate iirc. Good stuff all around. Cheers.

Few things to address...

Most importantly thank you to everyone has has voiced thier opinions on dealing with us. We are as much enthusiasts as we are business people which is why I think so many people enjoy their experiences here.

-19" wheels are no problem. We deal with many high end and large diameter wheels on a daily basis. When you have a 20" wheel on the machine that is worth over a grand you have to learn to be perfect in a hurry.

-Nate has since vacated the building next door. He is only about 10 minutes away though so we still send fab work his way.

-Pat is still here and still doing what he does best. We also have Andy formerly of Verocious here as a tech/tuner and another certified tech of almost 20 years here getting your projects in and out quick.

My experience today at R/T was mostly positive, even ran into another member on the forums here from New Jersey. The only problem I had was that I noticed a ding on my rear driver wheel that wasn't there before I went in (because I looked right before I got there LOL), I'm assuming from someone dropping either a lug nut or the lug adapter when taking off or putting on the wheel. Probably not a big deal, just a bit of a bummer, and hopefully it doesn't cause any problems with the clear coat on my CE's. Otherwise, the work was fairly quick and reasonably priced.

EDIT: I should add that I didn't say anything to the guys at the shop about it. It was my first time there and I didn't want to start my relationship with them coming off like a pain-in-the-*** customer. I'll put my money on it being a fluke thing, it was late in the day, maybe they were hurrying, etc etc. But I still feel comfortable enough to return for future work.

I completely understand being bummed Steve. I wish you had said something while you were here. It would not have been a pain in the *** at all. Once you drive away there isn't much we can do.
If you ever have any input or questions on work performed here please let us know. We will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Thanks for the feedback Erik. Yeah I knew once I drove away it was done deal, but like I said, it was my first time there, it was getting late in the day (around 7:15 or so) so I didn't to keep you guys there any longer than necessary and I didn't want to come off like being a pain in the ***. Then every time I come back it's like "oh here comes that a-hole again" LOL. Anyway, I'll speak up if anything else seems amiss on future visits.

I've actually come to grips with the fact that any time I take my car anywhere for service, there is a chance that something could go wrong....just like any time I do something to my car, it could (and probably will LOL) get a little beat up in the process.

So I guess I should ask for future reference: do you guys have a preferred shop that does a good job repairing wheels? Specifically, the weak-*** aluminum and even weaker clear coat on the lips of my Volk LE28n wheels? I'm not too worried about it now, but just in case the clear starts to peel/flake or anything.

EDIT: Does R/T take kindly to doing walk-arounds with the customer before any work is done? Like in this case, the wheels had to be removed to install new studs, then the wheels were reinstalled and the car taken for a test drive, then the wheels were taken off again to have the tires swapped side to side. So there were a lot of opportunities for a wheel to get dinged up. Does R/T take it as an insult or lack of trust or anything if next time we take a quick look around to get the condition ahead of time, and then again afterwards so we're all on the same page?

EDIT#2: Here was the real reason I didn't say anything. There is the "customer is always right" philosophy, but when it came down to it nobody at R/T tuning knew the condition of the wheels before doing the work. As far as you know, the wheel was dinged up before I even got there. So I could go in there and complain about it but if they didn't know the condition of the wheels in the first place, the only thing they have to go on is my word. I know how that kind of thing goes and I felt that I would sacrifice some small damage to the wheel in hopes of starting off on the right foot with a new shop. Does that make any sense or am I going in circles?

It all absolutely makes sense and I appreciate the honesty. You can by all means ask us to walk around the car with you prior to it ever coming into the service area. We wouldn't take any offense to that on any level. Enterprise rental does it with beaters the least we can do it walk around the car to YOUR satisfaction with a car as nice as yours is.

That would completely eliminate any problems with "he said she said" scenerios if there was any concerns at all. We will do whatever makes YOU feel comfortable having your car in with us. Don't be afraid to ask no matter how silly you think it is.
