Default Carwash on Long Island

Hey guys, I got my Z in March and I've been washing the car in my driveway but now the temperatures have dropped and I can't use the hose anymore. I've never taken my car to a carwash...so...can anybody recommend a good carwash? Also, can anybody recommend a good detail shop? Thank You!

I would recommend BRUSHLESS, do not let details folks do it, unless you are 100% sure they won't put swirls in your paint.

And stay away from the dealer, they are the worst.

I live in Sayville and use the Bluepoint Carwash (totally Handwash) on Montauk Hwy. It is just East of Nichols Road and near the Burger King. They are great and it is totally handwash. They have other locations I believe in Westbury (Nassau) and also in South Hampton or Hampton Bays?(Suffolk)

YES I CAN!

5 CORNERS Carwash in NEW HYDE PARK.

2080 Hillside Ave
New Hyde Park, NY
11040-2613, US

Used to live on LI and that was the only place id go to for a wash. 100% touchless as men in fishing gear wash your car down using sponges and soapy water. HIGH end cars go there regulary so you know it must be a good place.

Hook up a hot/cold water line to your outside faucet and wash it yourself. it's the ONLY way to ensure nobody is going to screw up your paint.
Wear some rubber gloves and lots of soap to get the salt and grime off.

The paint is hard enough to maintain, let alone allowing some $3 hr illegal touch the car.

I seen what car washes do to nice rims and they will not take responsibility for any damage.

I stopped at this place once because i saw it was hand wash and couldn't do it. I was too nervous, those guys looked like they used the same mitts all day long. To be fair i didn't watch for too long but i get real nervous leaving my car to someone else's hand, i'd rather leave it dirty till i can do it myself.

Yes they do a hand wash using sponge mits that they dip in large sudsy water barrels. You have to remember, theres no substitute for washing your car yourself. But, compared to the majority of the other car washes that use those spinning brushes and long spagehetti sponges, it A LOT better and less damaging.

There's a self service wash in island park, the name is texas car wash across the street from peters clam bar. There's also another self service wash in levit town on stewart, don't know the name of it . I use them both, both are great.

Hey guys just letting you know I do hand washes/waxes and complete details all by hand at my detail shop in Huntington. I had the mini-meet there a few weeks ago. I did a wash/wax on a gold 350Z saturday and i told him about the forum and he said he was already a member. Jeff
